Jean-Paul Hévin Chocolatier Pâtissier - Your next stop will be one of France’s most acclaimed French pastry chefs and chocolatiers where you’ll get to taste the fabulous Macarons, a sweet meringue-based confection, which was introduced in France by the Italian chef of Queen Catherine de Medici during the Renaissance. You’ll also get to learn about the “Meilleur Ouvrier de France” title, a unique and prestigious award granted to the best French craftsmen every four years.
La Fromagerie du Louvre Paris 1er - After those sweet stops, time to savor some of the finest French cheeses in one of the capital’s best Cheese shops! In 1962, French President Charles de Gaulle asked, “How can you govern a country which has two hundred and forty-six varieties of cheeses?”; Not an easy task indeed! But no worries, we have selected the very best ones for you!
Ô Chateau - Once your taste buds have been properly acquainted, you will have time to enjoy a sit-down meal at one of our favorite wine bars in Paris: a place completely and utterly dedicated to wine lovers. You’ll get to sample authentic cheese and charcuterie with some excellent French wine to go with it. Each offering will contain something unique and compelling that the French like to call “terroir”! You’ll then get to taste a surprise dish that originates from the French cafés in the early 1900s!
Pralus - Craving dessert? First, we’ll go on a brief digestive stroll, so you get to explore the most famous market street of Paris which is home to the pastry shop of King Louis the XV. Your morning tour ends on a sweet note as you will visit the shop of another award-winning French craftsman, a multigenerational family-run business that created a very special brioche which you will be sure to enjoy and remember!
Louvre Museum - After a short break to enjoy the surrounding scenic area, you will then head to your Louvre meeting point for a fully guided tour of one of the world’s largest and most impressive art museums. One can quite literally get lost in the Louvre’s endless expanses of exhibits. Even the most seasoned travelers can get overwhelmed at the whirlwind of activities and attractions at the Louvre. Please note your Louvre meeting point is a 20 minute walk from the end point of your Food Tour. Please make sure to check meeting point instructions as you will have to make your own way from the Food Tour to the Louvre meeting point.
This tour involves a fair amount of walking; comfortable shoes are recommended.
Your food tour finishes around 1pm and your Louvre tour starts at 2.30pm.

Your guide will wait for you in the middle of "Place Colette" square, next to metro exit number 5 of station "Palais Royal Musée du Louvre", in front off the "La Comédie Française" theatre. The guide will hold a City Wonders sign for easy recognition.

Will not be disappointed adding the food tour to your Louvre tour! - Loved the guided food tour to the quaint boulangeries, fromagerie and wine bar. Evie our tour guide was very personable and knowledgeable. She shared her experience living in Paris and was very interested in getting to know us while touring. Really enjoyed the fromagerie and the presentation from the gentleman in the cheese shop. Best part of course is the wine at the end of the tour! There was about an hour break in between the two tours to enjoy the area. The Louvre is definitely a busy area and recommend a tour if only spending an afternoon there. Our tour guide (sorry - cannot remember her name) was very nice and knowledgeable as well. The museum is magnificent and can be a bit overwhelming (in a good way). The tour guide did a great job highlighting the popular pieces of art. I felt that she also did well 'reading' her tour group and kept up the pace throughout the museum. The length of this tour was perfect for us. Would definitely recommend this combined tour. Thank you City Wonders for a wonderful experience.
