The day starts bright and early at 8:00 a.m. and your tour leader will be handing out custom lunch boxes.
The journey starts off at Auschwitz-Birkenau, the first part of your tour will last approximately 1.5 hours at Auschwitz I with the assistance of an official museum guide. Here you will gain knowledge on the sad history of Europe’s largest concentration camp. Following a short interlude, you will be transported to Birkenau where you will spend an hour with the same guide.
In the latter half of the day, you will journey to the Wieliczka Salt Mine, one of the most ancient operational salt mines across the globe. While en route to Wieliczka, the tour leader will hand out the menu. There will be about a one-hour pause prior to entering the Salt Mine.
The exploration of the Mine starts at either 4pm or 5pm. Prepare to delve 140 meters below the ground for a 2.5-hour adventure spanning more than 2.5 km of sight-seeing routes where you will get to witness rooms with remarkable sculptures and figures – all created from salt.
