Additional Information

Manoa Valley, a residential neighborhood near Waikiki and Ala Moana, is renowned for its abundant daily rainfall. This results in rainbows being a usual spectacle. The valley and its neighboring mountains are brimming with hiking trails, with Manoa Falls being the most frequently visited.

The excursion includes roundtrip shuttle service from your hotel in Waikiki, lasting roughly four hours, inclusive of pickup and drop-off. The hike commences over a large bridge meant for pedestrians, descending on a small brook through a cluster of Eucalyptus trees. The trail, spanning 0.8 miles, gradually elevates through a verdant rainforest and culminates at a viewing point distanced from the waterfall base. It’s an irresistible attraction!

Beautiful hikes - It was great that the shuttle service was included. The hike was beautiful. The driver D told us a lot about the city. We wish there was a better souvenir shop at the end though.

Rainforest Immersion - We had a true Rainforest experience. It rained a little off and on, which made it feel magical. The hike to the fall was easy enough, but the provided walking sticks were very helpful.

Rainforest hike - The fact that the tour was self guided allowed us to take our time navigating through the rainforest without feeling rushed. The walking sticks definitely helped due to some parts of the trail being slippery or steep. The waterfall had a slight trickle due to the fact that it hadn’t rained much that day. All in all the experience was amazing

Just Gorgeous! - Our driver, D, was a lot of fun. Took great care of us. The Rain Forest is unbelievably gorgeous! Great hike, but there was so much to see that the 2 hours was not enough. 3 hours would be better.

Beautiful Rainforest! Prepare to get wet! - If you need a way to get to the falls this is a convenient way to get there. You could probably Uber as well (I did not cost compare). They do give you a walking stick (which we used and found helpful). This is a moderate hike. I do not recommend small children (although I saw some on the hike), i.e. toddlers. I also recommend closed toed shoes and a change of socks for the little ones. We hiked up with our 7 year old daughter and she loved it. While it is not a long hike it is muddy and there is probably going to be rain. Bring a poncho or you can buy one from the tour guide for $5 or you can get one at the University of Hawaii gift store for $2 (you pass it on your way to the trail head). We decided to just embrace getting wet but a lot of people did get a poncho. The tour guide "D" was helpful and talked about things as we passed them which is always nice to hear history which you likely won't have if you get an uber. They also gave insect repellent (single bottle to hand around before you left) and a water bottle. The hike to the falls was awesome. It is a beautiful rainforest and the waterfall is pretty but honestly its all of it together that made it special. It took us 90 minutes to do the hike (stopping to take pictures and just admiring the landscape) which left 30 minutes to use the bathroom, walk through University of Hawaii gardens and check out the gift store. I would highly recommend this as its just an easy way to get there. Also, if you have a child you don't have to worry about a booster. The meeting time was a little off as they are picking up other people so just keep that in mind when you are waiting.

Definitely reamend ! - Was a great hike! The trees are so spectacular a must see ! We made it all the way up to the waterfall unfortunately it hadn't rained much so the flow was very little at best, the driver made it seam to be a bit easier then it was we though but not terrible!

Good event if you like hiking and nature. - It is a great destination if you like hiking and nature. Otherwise I don't recommend to go. The driver, D, was great giving information. It is a drop off and pickup tour only, so this means the driver will not go hiking with you. Also it is consider expensive for just transportation and some guidance. If you have traveling companions, it is better off taking Uber/Lyft there instead. It is free entry except vehicle parking fee. Google "Mānoa Falls Trail".

Poor - “D” the guide was rude and got angry when I asked for a water bottle. His info was poor and just showed us a map saying: take a pic, I’ll meet you all here in 2 hours. So. Not recommended at all
