Easy hike for some of the best views in Oahu - I booked this trip last minute for my family in our last day before heading back home. It's a decent value, offering views of the famous Halona blowhole and Halona beach on the way to the main stop, the Makapu'u lighthouse trail. Our driver Matthew Kenny made the trip an enjoyable experience with his vast knowledge of Hawaii. For the price you could probably get away with just driving to the sites yourself if you have a rental car already, it's only about a 15-20 minute drive from Waikiki. But having the knowledgeable driver we had made the experience much more valuable. The Makapu'u trail itself is all paved so very easy to walk. It's roughly a mile long walk up to the 3rd highest elevation lighthouse in the entire country. Easily accessible for all levels of hikers and pet friendly. Gorgeous views at every turn with occasional spotting of whales. Make sure to bring your binoculars.

Great day hike choice for port day in Honolulu. - Gorgeous views on a fairly easy hike. Gradual climb all the way up, so pleasant downhill walk on return. Our driver Tommy efficiently navigated around the MLK parade route to get us to the trailhead on time, and picked us up 2 hours later. We had plenty of time to do the hike and rest at the too. Saw a few whales too!

Breathtaking Views - Tommy made this experience great!! We safely got to our destination and back! The hike didn't feel long- maybe around 30 min to the top. Great views of the ocean and island! My favorite hidden gem was the Oil Shack with a mural of the Krusty Krab Kitchen lol!

Makapu'u Lighthouse - Tommy was very punctual and we enjoyed our tour immensely. We had more than enough time to do the hike a our own pace and Tommy was well informed and did some commentaries of the places we passed. He was a good drver too. Recommend this tour.

Awesome experience - Tommy was such a fun and helpful guide! Shared fun stories about surfing and growing up in Hawaii. The 2 hours at the trail is more than enough time. We took our time going up and down, and still had about an extra 35 minutes. It is mild but continuous incline the whole way up.

A bit misleading regarding the lighthouse. - This trip is mainly providing shuttle service to the site. They drop you off and come back 2 hours later to pick you up. It’s a bit misleading regarding the light house. You can’t go in the light house or even get close to it. The trail is washed away and the white fence posts are broken and scattered on the hillside. The walk to the top is fun and can take about 40-45 minutes for the average person. The well down is faster of course. Once you get down, there is no place to sit and wait for the driver to come back. No shade, be prepared for the weather if it’s hot. There was a nice breeze and the view was amazing at the top.

Rewarded walking - The journey to the lighthouse is quite easy the road is paved and on arrival the view pays off. Too bad that the lighthouse could not be lit but only see it from the path. With an extra hour of touring and an extra stop would be even better.
