New Delhi Sightseeing & Drive To Agra (3-4 Hrs Drive)\n\nHumayun’s Tomb - Pickup at 9am from your desired location in Delhi, Gurugram (Gurgaon) or Noida and visit Humayun’s Tomb (Unesco World Heritage site) - is the tomb of the Mughal Emperor Humayun in Delhi. \n\nQutub Minar - Qutub Minar (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) - The Qutub Minar that gives the complex its name is an unmissable, soaring Afghan-style victory tower and minaret, erected by sultan Qutb-ud-din in 1193 to proclaim his supremacy over the vanquished Hindu rulers of Qila Rai Pithora.\n\nLotus Temple - Designed for tranquil worship, Delhi’s beautiful Lotus Temple (Monday Closed) offers a rare pocket of calm in the hectic city. This architectural masterpiece was designed by Iranian-Canadian architect Fariburz Sahba in 1986. It is shaped like a lotus flower, with 27 delicate-looking white-marble petals. The temple was created to bring faiths together; visitors are invited to pray or meditate silently according to their own beliefs.\n\nIndia Gate - This imposing 42m-high stone memorial arch was designed by Lutyens in 1921. It pays tribute to around 90,000 Indian army soldiers who died in WWI, the Northwest Frontier operations and the 1919 Anglo-Afghan War. \n\nParliament House - This circular, colonnaded building, designed by Edwin Lutyens and Herbert Baker, was where the 1947 handover of power from Britain to the newly independent India took place, and parliament still meets here.\n\nRashtrapati Bhavan - Rashtrapati Bhavan or President House is an official residence of the President of India. Formerly home to the British Viceroy, the Presidentâs House has 340 rooms, with 2.5km of corridors, and it’s fascinating to take a peek inside.\n\nAgra - Late afternoon drive 3hrs to the City of Taj Mahal, Agra. Fabulous, well-organised tour. - We chose this 3-day Golden Triangle Tour as it had great reviews and it did not disappoint. Firstly a massive shout-out and thank you to our driver Vipin Sharma who escorted us for the whole 3-days. Vipin not only safely drove us over 800km but ensured we had plenty of water, made sure we were comfortable and gave us lots of interesting information in between stops. Vipin also acted as a link to each of the 3 local tour guides on each day. We booked the 5 star Hotel package and were allocated the Japee Palace in Agra and the Hilton in Jaipur. Both hotels were perfectly adequate for the one night stay; comfortable, clean and good food. As mentioned we picked up local tour guides in each city and all were very knowledgeable. Do let your guide know what you are interested in seeing and how much detail you want to know, we found them very accommodating - for example we asked to visit the Stepwell in Jaipur. Top tip, if you choose to visit the Taj Mahal at dawn make sure you have plenty of insect repellent, there are lots of mosquitoes! All in all, if you are limited in time but want to see the key sites in the Golden Triangle this is a fabulous tour.
