magical trip with immy - A full day tour with immy was a lot of fun! At the Taj Mahal, he gave us a rich explanation, including the historical background. They even negotiated the price, which was very reliable. I wanted to come to India again. Thank you immy!

Taj with immy - It was a fun tour thanks to Immy. The photographer in the Taj Mahal was persistent, but he protected me from other pushers. He explained the history to me and took a lot of pictures. The rice was also gorgeous and very delicious.

A very Long Day Out - I visited the Taj Mahal and the red Fort at Agra on a day trip as part of a group of four people on a business trip to Delhi. Our driver was Pankaj and our guide Shahid. Booking was very easy via TripAdvisor and we received prompt communication via WhatsApp giving our driver and guide details and pick up information from our hotel in Aerocity. Pankaj was a very patient and competent driver. You need to be to deal with the Delhi traffic! It's a long day out. It took us 3.5 hours to get to Agra and 4.5 hours on our return. We were in heavy traffic for the first hour leaving Delhi and for two hours in the evening on our return. In Agra, we were met close to the Taj Mahal by our guide Shahid. Shahid escorted us around the Taj for the guided tour and was happy to be involved in taking multiple photos of our group. From there, we went to lunch at the Hilton Doubletree which was adequate if nothing special. Following lunch, we visited the Red Fort. Our visit included tickets to both sites and we were escorted quickly through the ticketing and security areas without any delay at both sites. At the end of the Red Fort visit, Shahid was very keen for us to fill in our TripAdvisor reviews there and then. I declined with the intention of completing this review later on my laptop rather than on my phone. We then proceeded to our final site which we were expecting to be the Itmad-ud-Daula as advertised. This turned out to be not the case. The final visit on our trip was to a carpet shop run by Shahid's uncle where we were expected to sit through a demonstration of carpet making and be subjected to a sales pitch to buy their rugs. We were facing a long trip back to Delhi in the evening so refused to get involved in this carpet shop visit and left. Despite it being part of the advertised trip, we did not see Itmad-ud-Daula at all. On the way back to Delhi, our driver Pankaj was visibly struggling to stay awake. Chatting with him, it transpired that he had needed to get up at 5am that morning and had not got to bed until 12:30 am the same morning. We stopped at a service station on the return in order for him to be able to get a coffee and stay awake. This trip is supposed to include a bottled water as part of the package. In fact there was only one very small (250 mL) bottle of water per person. This is nothing like enough for a 12-hour day in these sort of temperatures. If that is all the company is going to provide, you definitely need to take your own supplies of water. Also take toilet paper with you - the service stations are unlikely to have this. I suspect that most of the 5-star reviews here are due to completion of the review at the end of the Red Fort visit. Our group were all irritated by the fact that we were expected to be subjected to the carpet shop visit instead of the Itmad-ud-Daula. Overall we were still glad that we made the trip, however I would take the 100% 5-star reviews here with a pinch of salt.
