Highlights

Sólheimajökull glacier parking lot - Once you’ll meet with your guide, you’ll be introduced to the activity you’ll experience shortly after.
After checking in your guide will inspect all your boots, if they don’t match our safety standard for ice climbing, you’ll be asked to rent climbing boots at a nearby company (without proper boots, you won’t be able to climb!).
Then it’s gear up time. You’ll be shown how to wear harness, helmet and how to walk safely holding ice axes and crampons.
From the parking lot there is a 20 minutes walk to the front of the glacier where you’ll be introduced to crampons, how to wear them and how to walk.
Then it’s glacier time!!
Following a straight single line you’ll follow your guide through the terminal area of the glacier until the plateau, where your guide will find the best climbing spot according to the group fitness and experience.
Here you’ll spend most of the glacier experience, climbing on a moulin or the wall of a crevasse.
Once the group is satisfied with the climbing experience your guide will walk you back to the starting point where he’ll collect all the gear and check you out, after an amazing glacier adventure.

Wonderful experience on Solheimajökull glacier ❤️ - We will always carry in our hearts the wonderful experience we had today on the Icelandic Solheimajökull glacier ❤️ Special thanks go to Valerio, an expert and friendly trained guide, who accompanied us with every care and provided us with explanations and anecdotes throughout our tour. Valerio provides all the necessary equipment and really manages to convey his passion for what he does. Thank you Valerio, also for the beautiful photos you took of us 😍We will definitely see each other again!
