• Arusha National Park - Start your day with a hearty breakfast, as departure from Moshi is at 8:00 am sharp for the one-hour journey to Arusha National Park. Upon arrival, enjoy a fantastic walking safari led by a ranger who will guide you through the rainforest to a stunning waterfall, where you can observe black and white colobus monkeys in their natural habitat. Following a delicious lunch, embark on a game drive in a Land Cruiser to explore more of the park, including the Lakes of Momella and the Ngurduto Crater. You are likely to see buffalo, waterbuck, giraffe, warthogs, zebra, and gazelle, along with a variety of bird species. With some luck, you might even spot the elusive leopard or elephant. Remember to bring your camera! After the drive, you will be transported back to Moshi.

Arusha National Park is conveniently accessible via a straightforward 60-minute drive northwest from Moshi or a 30-minute journey from Arusha. Despite its proximity to Arusha, this national park remains one of the least frequented, offering a delightful and rewarding off-the-beaten-path adventure. Arusha National Park encompasses Mount Meru, a notable volcano with an elevation of 4,566 meters, located in the Arusha region of northeastern Tanzania. The park is compact yet diverse, featuring breathtaking landscapes across three distinct areas. To the west, the Meru Crater channels the Jekukumia River, with the peak of Mount Meru situated on its rim. The Ngurudoto Crater in the southeast is characterized by grasslands. The shallow, alkaline Momella Lakes in the northeast display varying algal colors and are renowned for their wading birds. Mount Meru stands as the second-highest peak in Tanzania, following Mount Kilimanjaro, which is just 60 km away and provides a stunning backdrop to views from the park to the east.
