Home to 30,000 animals, it’s perfect for spotting the ‘big 5’ – lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo, and leopard. Enjoy a picnic lunch at this world-renowned site, often called the ‘8th Wonder of the World’. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the Ngorongoro Wildlife Lodge.

Olmoti and Empakai Crater

Empakaai Crater - After breakfast, head to Olmoti Crater for a half-day walk. Often, Maasai are encountered en route to the crater’s waterfalls. In the afternoon, continue to the base camp at Empakaai Crater (Special Campsite). Experience the tranquility and beauty of this wild location. Around the lake, discover springs and abundant wildlife, including many flamingos. Overnight at the special campsite, Empakaai.

Empakaai to Acacia Campsite

Ngorongoro Conservation Area - Begin the day by walking from Empakaai to Acacia Campsite. Descend the outer hills of the Great Rift Valley, traverse the open plains of the Bulbul depression, and pass through Nairobi village. There is a wonderful opportunity to meet the local Maasai. Donkeys will carry your luggage. Proceed to Acacia Campsite for dinner and an overnight stay.

Depending on the previous night’s stop, choose between a full-day game drive or early morning and afternoon drives in the Seronera area. The best time to witness the wildlife is from December to May, with the calving season occurring between January and March. The Seronera area is also ideal for spotting the elusive and nocturnal leopard. Overnight at the same camp.
