Highlights
- Ramon Crater Visitor Center - Makhtesh Ramon - Most of our tours begin here but should you prefer a pick up from your hotel or guest house that is also fine. After picking up we will stop at the top of the pass that decends down in to and around the Ramon Machtesh
- Ramon Crater - Our next stop is in the Ramon river bed, a normaly dry watercourse where we will explain all about the geology of this amazing errosive cavity and why it is not a “crater”.
- Ramon Crater - A good guide gauges his clients as he goes and also takes the prevailing weather conditions in to account, our next stop (especially on a hot day) could be in the shade of a big Accacia tree or at a Neolitic (stoneage) archaelogical site.
- Ramon Crater - Get high, legally :-), we always stop on the top of Mt Gvanim for a stunning view of the whole “crater”

Our jeep excursions, led by a seasoned local driver and guide, take you on a two-hour journey into and around the Ramon crater, beginning and concluding in Mitspe Ramon. Rather than focusing on the driving element, this guided tour emphasizes enlightening narratives, using our 4X4 to transport you to a multitude of stunning, often inaccessible locations that cars or buses cannot reach. We have the capacity to accommodate any number of vehicles required, with the opportunity to upgrade to an 8-seat 4X4 available (at a different rate).

2 hour jeep tour in the Machtesh Ramon - Adam is a really experienced and knowledgeable guide, well versed in the history, geography and archaeology of the area. The jeep ride felt safe and fun. The views were magnificent. Adam was able to answer our many questions about the Machtesh and the surrounding area. We highly recommend this tour with Adam.

A must do when in Mitzpeh Ramon area ! - Boaz was personable , well educated in the subject and made the trip feel personalized

Mitzpe Ramon - Our tour guide, Naor, was amazing! He was extremely knowledgeable about the area. He was friendly and engaging and answered all of our questions. If you arrange to be picked up at the visitor center, either arrive early to do the self-guided tour or stay after the Jeep tour. It is well worth it! We had a fabulous day!

A must in Mitzpei Ramón - We did the tour with Elyon. He explained us in detail how the macktesh was formed. Drove us to beautiful spots and took very good family pictures. He was charismatic and informative. Highly recommend this tour, it’s a must in Mitzpei Ramon.

A really great trip into the maktesh - We had a really special, long visit into the maktesh led by the highly knowledgeable and fun son of the owner. Lots of wonders of nature to see and enjoy. Navigating the terrain was a special experience, certainly one to remember.
