Highlights
  • Morro Solar - Our first stop is at one of the city’s highest points, located in the Chorrillos district, to visit the historic “Morro Solar” (300 masl). Here, we will enjoy a stunning view and learn about the history of this site and Peru in general.
  • Barranco - Next, we head to the bohemian and artistic district of Barranco, the smallest district in Lima. We will explore the “plaza” and the romantic and mystical “Puente de los Suspiros.” Additionally, we will admire the beautiful art murals on the narrow streets of this traditional neighborhood.
  • Miraflores - After Barranco, we visit the vibrant and famous district of Miraflores. Here, we will see the romantic “Parque Del Amor,” featuring an artistic sculpture by renowned local artist Victor Delfín, and offering a panoramic view of the Peruvian sea. We will then head to “Parque Kennedy” for a stroll, a chat about the park’s history, and to watch and pet the cats living there.
  • Mercado N 2 de Surquillo - Time for food! We visit a traditional “Local Market” in the Surquillo district to learn about the various products grown and harvested in Peru and delve into Peruvian gastronomy. We will enjoy a fruit tasting of native and exotic products from different regions of Peru (Coast, Andes, and Amazon) and have lunch at a local restaurant known for its typical and native dishes, popular among locals.
  • Plaza San Martin - After lunch, we head to Lima’s historical center to visit San Martin Square. Your local tour guide will introduce you to this beloved square, known for its gardens and pleasant atmosphere, and provide an overview of the country’s history, its people, and local life.
  • Jiron de La Union - This street is a must-see! You will enjoy a panoramic view and appreciate the beautiful architecture, wooden balconies, impressive rock carvings, monumental churches, and religious altars. The local atmosphere, shops, chicken restaurants, and local music will make your day exciting, happy, and interesting!
  • Museo Convento San Francisco y Catacumbas - After exploring Unión Street, we will walk through Ucayali and Lampa streets to delve into Lima’s history and learn about its people and life. We will then visit one of Lima’s most impressive attractions, the Monastery of San Francisco and its fascinating internal catacombs. Here, we will learn about the culture and traditions of Lima’s inhabitants during the colonial era of the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries. This attraction is sure to make your tour memorable!
  • Presidential Palace (Palacio de Gobierno) - We will have a panoramic view of one of the most important buildings in the country, accompanied by a detailed explanation. This is where the president lives and works, and where the changing of the guard takes place daily. We will enjoy the great architecture and the rich history of this place.
  • RESTAURANTE CORDANO - Considered the oldest official bar in Peru, located next to the presidential palace, it is famous for hosting many former presidents and writers, including Ernest Hemingway. This friendly bar, though not posh, has great personality and character. Locals love its traditional cuisine, such as Aji de gallina (creamy chicken), fresh ceviches, tongue stew, tasty anticuchos, and top-notch Pisco sours. We will have a quick visit.
  • Lima Cathedral - The most important religious institution during the colonial era was in Lima, presided over by this imposing cathedral. According to Catholic rules, no other church can be built higher than its towers. The front is impressive, and the surrounding art and architecture are equally stunning. Major and oldest religious ceremonies are held here, and locals love to get married in this cathedral. We will have the best panoramic view for photos!
  • Pasaje Santa Rosa - A lovely street where locals enjoy their day, often featuring temporary exhibitions. The atmosphere is comfortable with a fresh breeze. This place hides the most important sacred rock for the still-living natives, used for offerings and rituals to the gods like Mother Earth. Natives from Peru come here to perform various rituals, including dances, to keep their culture and energy alive. A sacred place worth visiting and learning about!
  • Basilica and Convent of Santo Domingo, Lima - This convent, considered the oldest in South America, had the tallest tower on the continent during the 17th century. It still functions as a convent and boasts an impressive facade and a shiny front altar. We will visit this place from the outside, and if the church is open, you can take a quick look inside before we head back to your accommodation.
  • Plaza de Armas (Plaza Mayor) - The Plaza de Armas is another highlight! Influenced by Spanish architecture (as we were once a colony), it is surrounded by the first palaces, mansions, and castles built in South America, along with a beautiful main garden. Before visiting this place, we will walk along Ancash Street to visit the “Happy Inka market,” where you can appreciate local art, indigenous carvings, and textiles, and have the opportunity to buy a souvenir of your visit to Lima!

Fantastic 1-day tour - this was an amazing tour! Nataly was very fun and very knowledgeable about the history and the culture of different districts and took time to talk about the food etc. She also seamlessly explained things in both Spanish and English and it made the tour very worth it. Julio was an amazing driver and very courteous. I didn’t bring sunscreen though, and that was my mistake. I’m very red now.

A great way to get to learn Lima - Amazing tour and a very knowledgeable and nice tour guide. Aura, the guide, answered all our questions and gave lots and lots of advice where to go, what to do, and what to try during the rest of our stay. Very recommended especially for those who visit Peru for the very first time like myself.

Great tour - The tour guide showed up an hour late, wish the company would have let me known, but after going through traffic I could understand why. Edwin, my guide for the morning, did a wonderful job having to do the tour in both Spanish and English. My afternoon portion of the tour started with a new guide, Natalie, and a fantastic lunch. Natalie was very informative as we toured the southern parts of Lima.
