BEST food BEST experience!! - It was a AMAZING experience! Marco our guide was extremely knowledgeable and was very good at teaching non cookers how to make such easy yet complex dishes. He was very nice and really funny while cooking with us! The terrace was absolutely beautiful and being able to make our food in the closed part and eating in the open garden was something out of a fairytale! The ingredients we used were grown in house and it made the food taste even better making it from scratch and knowing there are no preservatives or additives, honestly it tasted better than any restaurant or store could offer. The only thing we did not make was the sauce because Ms. Bruna brewed it for many hours beforehand, let’s just say it was the best sauce I ever had!!! For how much the class was we got so much more out of it, a beautiful environment, delicious food, and being able to take home the homemade recipes to cook for yourself was more than a cherry on top!!!

Most polite and helpful staff ever - Sonesta ES Greetings and salutations! I have been travelling with my beautiful angel for more than four years. We traveled the entire state of Mississippi, Florida, Middle TN, most of Virginia, as well as Maryland. Big deal, right? Our travels brought us back to Charlottesville once again. This time my wife tried to find a room with a full kitchen, because we tend to travel for days and weeks at a time, it's easier to meal prep for our next step in traveling. We came to Sonesta ES and from day one, every single staff member not only smiled politely, but often spoke first with a pleasant greeting and offered help and advice with their interactions. My wife enjoyed the gym, (because I tend toward lazy), there is a very nice outdoor pool, which I will try today. There is something rather specific I want to share, one day we wanted to meal prep by grilling quite a bit of differing meats. I read the instructions on the wall by the grills and the sign directed me to the front desk. Ms. Kathy Brown met me at the front desk. I explained what we wanted to do, and she said, as though she was talking to family, "I got you!" Ms. Brown provided us with a large metal tray, with a couple sheets of wax paper, tongs, and a spatula to handle our grilling and even suggesting which grill would likely be the best to use. Fantastic service! Silly me, I was unfamiliar with the particular grills available, although I professionally removed the grill cover, I could not get that bad boy to fire up. At that particular moment, one of the very kind maintenance members, who had been in the middle of cleaning and preparing the pool area, came by and politely asked, "How are you doing today?" and I honestly answered how ridiculous I felt for not being able to fire up the grill. He immediately helped me learn how to fire up the grill and went on about his business. My angel and I worked together to get everything grilled for our next few days' meals. Bear in mind, we've been mostly on the road for four years, hotel to hotel, doesn't matter the names of those places, but it has certainly been dozens if not hundreds of hotels. My wife retired me in 2020, but she works nearly every single day, so her interactions with staff are usually brief, but I tend to be in the hotel all day. She was able to secure a day off during this trip, so we had the day together. This was the best day we've had together in months. Ms. Brown and the tall maintenance guy with his well-trimmed beard, made that day one of the best days we've had in months! We were able to handle our business and enjoy a great time together by the simple acts of your staff going above and beyond, in my humble opinion. This has been one of my best hotel stay in the last four years! Having traveled the world over the last twenty years, I can also add, this was the best stay I can recall in that time. If I were to offer one gripe, I could only say, I grew up in the south and I like to have bacon for breakfast, I haven't had that in your hotel, but I did miss two breakfasts, so I may have missed out on bacon day. Thank you all very much for your kindness and professionalism!
