Private tour with Tino perfect for young kids - Tino provided us with a memorable private tour and made sure we got back to the pier in time for all aboard. The Costa Maya cruise port is a little challenging to navigate but once we exited the port, it was easy to find the meeting place. We were met by Julio our driver who took us to meet with the owner Baudelio and Tino who was our guide. We booked this through viator as a group tour but they were able to upgrade us to a private tour with an upcharge which was so worth it. We didn't have to wait for the rest of the group and got on our way. Tino stopped on the way to pick up some fruit for us. The lagoon was amazing. The water was the perfect temperature and fresh water. Very shallow, almost ankle depth in some parts which was perfect for my 2 young kids and baby. Since it was fresh water, no stinging eyes or sticky skin after. We got to spend an hour at the lagoon as we wanted to be back at least an hour prior to all aboard. On the way back, Tino stopped at a taco place where he pre-ordered our meals and that was quick and delicious. We even bought 2 bottles of a delicious tamarind salsa to take home. And then the kids napped for the 1 hour ride back to the cruise terminal.

Amazing! - I would highly recommend this tour. It is a distance of a walk from the cruise pier to the representatives, but boy do they make it worth the while! They made us feel like movie stars the way they took care of us! I am afraid I do not recall everyone's name, but Tino, our guide for the trip was Amazing, but, from the guys who greeted us, escorted us to the check point, the driver to the location, the boat driver, this was the Best group to tour with! We unfortunately had to cut our trip short, no fault of the tour, our ship was scheduled to leave early from this port, I wanted to stay all day, this place is Beautiful! I will be planning a trip back and for sure would book this tour Again! Thank you for such a great time touring your Beautiful Bacalar! Lunch was great as well!

Amazing Day!! Take this tour! - This excursion was amazing! It was the best day! Tino, our guide, was fun, energetic, funny, and knowledgeable. He and our driver, Oscar, made the day so much fun! The honey pineapple and sapote were delicious! Bacalar Lagoon was stunning, and our boat driver, Damian(?) was great! And oh my goodness, the food at El Taco Loco on the way home was delicious! I couldn't have been happier with this company and this tour.

Would book again - Easy to find the tour on following directions out of costa maya port. Had a whiteboard up with traveler names. Plenty of bottled water and drinks available. Guide seemed to have a cold through trip, we figure these folks probably can’t afford to miss work. Got back to port area in plenty of time for ship with time to spare to shop a little. Lagoon was as beautiful as expected. Swimming on trip in waist deep water so no need to get head wet if you didn’t want to. Very soft sand bottom so didn’t need water shoes we had brought. No towel provided so bring your own.

Title: A Magical Day at Bacalar Lagoon - A Must-Visit Destination! - My girlfriend and I booked on an unforgettable excursion to Bacalar Lagoon in February 2024, and it exceeded all our expectations. Our guide was Leo. We were delighted by his worldly experience and loving attitude. Leo was knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about the area's history. From the moment we arrived, we were embraced. The Lagoon is breathtaking - the crystal-clear waters in differing shades of blue, surrounded by trees, bushes, and vegetation. It is truly a paradise setting. We had the opportunity to explore the lagoon in a private boat ride, moving through the serene natural surroundings and learning about the lagoon's unique ecosystem. We also indulged in swimming, and historical conversation. I recommend this tour to anyone and will be returning for the most special occasion.

#1 BEST TOUR OPERATOR - Celina and Andres were our tour guide and driver and they were both amazing. They picked us up from right outside the port. Their vehicle was air conditioned and comfortable enough for my family of 5. They took us to Bacalar- 7 Colors Lagoon. Celina really made my family feel special. I didn’t even realize that we had told her that we were celebrating a birthday but she made the day super special. I would highly recommend Chac Ek Costa Maya to anyone visiting Costa Maya. The best part of the trip for me was seeing my family enjoy themselves. Thank you Celina.

Bacalar tour with Celina - We have been on many cruises and to many ports of call. This tour was one of the most special experiences we have ever had. We did the Bacalar tour with Celina and had an absolute blast. She was a perfect guide and host; we felt at home and our entire tour group felt like family by the end of the day. Everything we ate, from the full lunch to the honey pineapples to the snacks in the car, was delicious and authentic. As for Bacalar itself, I attached photos to this review. Just go. It's worth it, I promise. I've been back home for like a week now and I can't stop thinking about those perfect, tranquil waters. This tour is perfect because it was the perfect amount of time outside, the perfect amount of food, and just an unbelievably fun time all thanks to our guide, Celina. Request her when booking! Shout out to our driver, Flores, as well for making record time, and just being an overall legend! Thank you!

Beautiful, but don’t go it alone - Not recommended for solo travelers due to significant impacts from other travelers who never showed up for the tour. That unexpected circumstance of course is outside of the company’s control; however, the company’s response to the situation was average and the resulting experience was underwhelming. I had arrived on time by 7:30 and had to sit around with them until 8:15 waiting for those no-shows, even though written instructions clearly warned the tour would not wait for any latecomers. I was offered beverages and a comfortable seat in the van, and Timo was very personable. Further, it was then unreasonable to run the van for only 1 person and I felt much obliged to join their other van which was a different tour to the ruins first (with a less than enthusiastic guide). As a result, the time allotted on the lagoon was only 45 min, from 11:15-12:00, and food accommodations had to be changed. On return, it was relieving that the driver navigated heavy construction zones safely and delivered me back to port 2:15, with spare minutes for walking to the 2:30 all-aboard. Tipped pesos for that. In the end, it felt like a win-lose situation because the company gained profits from the no-show family (plus saved resources from not running the original van) while I lost out on the full experience of the tour I purchased. I only wish the company would have balanced the burden more equitably.
