Madrid experience - We had an excellent experience touring the Royal Palace of Madrid with Amigo Tours. Our guide was incredibly well informed and shared the history, art, and cultural details of the palace in a way that was both engaging and easy to follow. Every question we had was answered with depth and enthusiasm, and it was clear how much knowledge and passion the guide brought to the experience. The pace of the tour was just right—plenty of time to admire the details without feeling rushed. Overall, it was a wonderful way to explore such a magnificent landmark, and we would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Madrid.

Great Tour! - Carlos was a wonderful tour guide to our small group of 10. He was knowledgeable and humorous, and hit all of the major highlights available to public view. I’d recommend this tour rather than just wandering around without historical context, unless you’ve done a lot of advance research on your own and know what to look for.

Meh - something to do but not a trip highlight - If you're going anyways, being in an organized tour group seems like the better option. There's a separate security entrance and when going through several rooms the groups walk on a separate route from self-guided visitors. We also wore a small amplification ear piece to be able to hear our guide. This tour is full of art, architecture, and Spanish history. The downside is that there are so very many people that I needed my ear piece turned to the highest volume. Our guide was sweet, but hasn't traveled at all (even to the south is Spain) and English was spoken with a thick accent (husband and kids didn't realize she was saying "clocks" until about half-way through and felt like they were missing the "cloaks" they thought they were supposed to see). The Cathedral next door is free and we went through on our own as recommended by our guide. Something to do, but overall, could do without this tour unless you're really into Spanish royalty and quick walk-by glimpses of art.

Tour guide never showed up at scheduled time - No, the guide either left 20minutes before the tour time or NEVER showed up. Two other groups arrived as directed 15 -20 minutes before the scheduled tour time. All three groups talked to your people without ANY resolution! I demand a FULL refund, or I will go through AMEX to get a refund. Not only did you waste a full afternoon, it screwed up our schedule for our 4days in Madrid. Vernon

Amigo tour changed our... - Amigo tour changed our tour timing for the Madrid Royal place tour on Sep 10. Its was at 9:30am and then changed to 2:45pm. We were there at the meeting point at 2:25pm and no one showed up and when we called the Amigo tour they said the guide is already in the place. There were two other families with us too. So we booked the tour again through Expedia and visiting the place today on Sep 11. So we need a refund from Viatour. Once I reach US will try to call Viatour support for the refund

We almost missed the chance to get to know the Royal Palace because they cancelled our reservation. - We had the visit booked via Amigo Tours with the Go City pass. Friend Tours canceled the reservation at short notice and without explanation. Luckily we were able to take the tickets out on our own and make the visit to Palacio Real the same day we planned. In addition to the time we took away from enjoying our stay in Madrid, it has an impact on our costs and decision to purchase our Go City pass. I have been taking advantage of these passes in different cities for years and it has never happened to us.

Awful - there is no “skip the queue” - don’t fall for it! - Awful! We booked a group “skip the line” tour last week and there was no “skipping the line.” We ended up having to wait 40 minutes in the same queue as everyone else in the blazing sun with our 2 children just to get in. They claim you are skipping the queue, because the guide has your tickets. Problem is everyone else has tickets too! Such a scam, don’t fall for it like we did. There was a separate queue for those who didn’t purchase tickets in advance and they walked straight in, bought their tickets and were in within minutes. Also shame on Amigo tours for refusing to refund our money after we found out there was no skipping the queue when we met our guide! Don’t recommend, felt like we have been totally scammed!
