Embark on a journey to the rural world, exploring the natural countryside while savoring local delicacies. The adventure takes us through the Serra da Lousã, near Coimbra, where we delve into ancient traditions and rural lifestyles. We relish the local cuisine and admire the mountain villages of Cerdeira, Candal, Talasnal, and Casal Novo, all constructed with schist stone. Our exploration will take us to the extremes, visiting Arouce Castle and the natural beach of Nª Srª Piedade at the mountain’s base, and ascending to Trevim’s highest point to enjoy the popular Lousã swing.

Lunch will be served at a traditional restaurant featuring local dishes, including chanfana (goat meat slowly cooked in a wood-fired oven). Alternative options are available for those who prefer something different.

To conclude the day, there will be an opportunity to taste PDO sheep and goat cheese, olive oil, bread, and wine in Rabaçal, the cheese capital.

After the visits and tastings, we will return to the starting point.
