The Fátima Sanctuary is a foremost destination for Christian pilgrimages and Catholic reverence, honoring the history of events leading to its establishment, particularly the apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima to the three shepherd children - Lúcia dos Santos, Francisco, and Jacinta Marto - in 1917.
On this journey, we’ll explore Aljustrel, also known as the Village of Valinhos, where the three young shepherds resided. Upon reaching the sanctuary, we’ll tour the Basilica of Nossa Senhora do Rosário. Distinguished by its 65-meter high tower, it houses the final resting place of the three little shepherds. We’ll proceed to the Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity, the newest section of the sanctuary, and the Capelinha das Aparições where, if fortune favours, you’ll get to witness a mass.
Following the tour, we’ll return to your hotel in Coimbra.
