Location
Praça Dom Pedro IV
Departure Point: Praça Dom Pedro IV (Rossio Square) Meet by the statue. It's a big square with 2 fountains on each side and in the center a high column with a man on the top. If you are on a square with a statue of a man on a horse, you are in the wrong square, most likely the Figueira Square.

Small Groups deliver Bigger experiences - Being part of a ‘Small group’ is important and worth the cost premium. One can hear the guide clearly , all move easily at the same pace, strike up a dialogue with your companions, and spend more time simply enjoying the experience. Our party was 11 adults - all able to understand English- versus some other groups we saw which were 20+ at the beginning and less than 10 at the end. Our guide was Alexandra (‘Alex’) who shared from the start her deep knowledge of the City - in a clear and articulate delivery - and her experience in managing the needs of diverse tourists in our group. Stops to sample local foods, coffee, cherry liqueur, cod delicacies with green wine added both a break from the walking as well as the chance to er, freshen up. It’s over 3 1/2 hours to complete the tour but because of the continuous input of interesting facts ( and food) the time sped by. Definitely an excellent means of seeing the important landmarks in the city as well as learning about the evolution of today’s Portuguese culture . Worth every €euro

Superb city tour - We have traveled quite a bit and this was one of the best city tours we’ve experienced. Our guide, Daniel, spoke excellent English and was extremely personable. His knowledge of the history, politics, and culture of Lisbon and Portugal was extensive; he knew exactly how much to say so that the group remained interested and was never bored. We felt we received a superb overview of Lisbon, with some Portuguese nibbles and drinks included. I highly recommend Daniel and Inside Lisbon Tours.

We had 10 people and it was a nice tour. - Our Guide was Maria. It was her first tour. She was enthusiastic and informative. Hopefully her English gets a little better running an English speaking tour, but she was very pleasant and I would recommend.

Deserves more than 5 stars! Highly recommended! - Leslie, our guide was just awesome! Very engaging and knowledgeable, and was able to make the 3 and half hours feel too short! She had brilliant tips and suggestions on navigating the difficult terrain of Lisbon. The design of the route is thoughtful, and gave us maximum insights in a short time. And of course, the food and wine tasting just added to the experience. Definitely try the homemade ginjinah (which Leslie will introduce you to at the Alfama)! Highly recommended! Will add here that the terrain is not very easy, and not stroller friendly, given the ups and downs, which are quite steep.

A wonderful walking tour in Lisbon - Our tour guide Filipe was friendly, personable and he did a wonderful job providing us with history and information. There were 12 people in our group, which is a good size. I wouldn't want any more than that. The tour was about 4 hours and the time passed quickly. Filipe paced us well, as some needed more time getting up or down stairs; and he offered us tips on getting around. Going through the Alfama neighborhood was good, allowing us to get a glimpse of everyday life in Lisbon. One stop included a pastry and another for codfish cake and beverage. It was nice to have a little snack & a restroom break! We hit many of the highlights in Lisbon, and were given ideas on other things to do and places to eat. I highly recommend the tour.

Fun orientation tour of Lisbon - Excellent 3 hour walking tour that gave us a great overview of Lisbon neighborhoods, history, food ( & Ginjinha, a local drink), and great photo opportunities. . Our guide, Filipa, claimed we were her first tour with Inside Lisbon. It seemed hard to believe she wasn’t a seasoned pro. She provided plenty of information, was at ease with the different tour guests in our group, paced the tour perfectly, gave us several laughs, was friendly and able to answer our questions, as well as showing everyone a good time. Well worth the price! Recommend it highly!

Secrets and shortcuts - Joao, our guide was personable and knowledgeable. He told us a lot of history, along with some humorous stories. We got to sample the local pastry, codfish and cherry liquor. Nice to tick those off. He showed us several elevators that saved us walking up hills. Very useful.
