A great hop on hop off experience - The bus kept to the schedule which was really helpful given all the rain that day. The stops were convenient and the audio worked well. The driver was careful and friendly

we love the Jerónimos Monastery, the Belém Tower is fantastic, the beautiful Estrela Basilica. - We loved this tour. The driver Mr. Cláudio Lara took us very well. He drives very well and is very attentive. He gave us lots of explanations about what we could visit with our ticket. I recommend it with 10 out of 10.

Online tickets invalid? - Yellow bus have a problem with online tickets, the bar code given cannot be found. We had to wait for an hour till they decided to give us the tickets.

Useful as transport, not to learn about the city - The tour is ok, not very informative but does take you to most of the key attractions in the city. Staff were friendly and happy to answer questions. Really useful that you can also use trams and the Santa Justa lift. This meant we could get to the castle and cathedral in addition to the destinations on the bus tour. Jerónimos Monastery and Belém Tower are definitely highlights.

A fairly quick overview... - A fairly quick overview of Lisbon. Nice way to get your bearings upon arrival.
Appreciated the perks such as city map and free access to public transportation.

We did not get off until the end. Would not recommend the big yellow bus tour. - It wasn’t very informative and the music was terrible. I would not recommend. We took a tram the next day it was a fun journey.

Yellow bus tour not worth the money - We paid over €200 for bus tour tickets + Aquarium for 4 adults and one child.
Aquarium experience was good.
The tour was not worth the time or money!!! The information given was minimal, there was a lot of background music instead of guided commentary that we paid for. Audio did not work on some seats. Tickets can be used on trams and buses too but we had no idea where to find them! Leaflet provided should have that information made clear for those who visit the city for the first time. I would not recommend Yellow bus tour.

How can they make something so straightforward, so bad. - I will take you through the whole experience and you can judge it. It's a hop on hop off bus, it was going to most of the things we wanted to see, it was the cheapest bus, what can go wrong... Booking was straightforward, paid online and got a token thing on my phone. Arrived at praca de Figueira and got directions to the bus from a stallholder. Got to the bus, we were going to do the blue route, spoke to a bus driver, showed him the token thing on my phone and he gave us two tickets, two sets of ear phones, a route map and warned us about pickpockets at the stops. All good so far. Got to our seat and plugged the earphones in, went to number 2 for English speakers. There was very annoying music playing but I thought it would stop when we started moving, but it didn't . We wanted off at stop two. I took my earphones out as I could not stand the music, my wife did also, as did the majority of the passengers. I usually like to hear the commentary but the music interspersed with it made it too annoying to listen too. Anyway, we waited for the 2nd stop. After a while , and the bus not stopping I Iistened to the commentary again and realised we were coming to stop 5!!!. The bus does not stop at every stop, it only stops if you press the stop button. But if you don't know where you are, you don't know when to stop. Anyway my wife and I and another couple we didn't know got off at this stop. We asked the driver why he hadn't stopped and he told us he doesn't stop if he doesn't need too. The driver said another bus would be along in thirty minutes. We looked around stop 5 ( waste of time) and got back on the next bus. We told the bus driver we wanted off at stop 11, he said we had to listen to the commentary and press the button when we wanted to stop. Anyway, we could not listen to the incredibly annoying music and we got off at stop 7. We walked around there fir thirty minutes and got the next bus. I'd had enough by this time and just wanted taken back to the square so I could enjoy my day, walking about. Got on the bus, did the whole route and then it made one stop. Nobody in the bus had their earphones in. We waited to get to Praca de Figueira, but it doesn't stop there, it stops nearby. Well we didn't know and the driver never said. Everybody on the top of the bus stayed on, nobody, I repeat nobody had their earphones in. The bus stayed going again and we waited for the square. After several minutes I noticed stop 5 again!!! Myself and my wife and another two couples got off, we spoke to the other people, they had not been listening to the commentary/music and had no idea where they were either. Anyway we walked back to the square ( 35 minutes).
This bus tour is rubbish, the drivers are lazy and don't even bother to let you know you are at the start or finish of the route. Avoid, avoid avoid this yellow hop on hop off bus .

Terrible driver would not allow us to board with app ticket rather than paper one! He called police cos took his photo! - We bought the tickets on the app and then boarded the bus. We were then given a printed ticket. The next time we got on the bus we did not have the printed tickets as we had changed our clothes back at the hotel & left the tickets there as we knew we had them in the app. However when we tried to board the bus the 2nd time we showed him the tickets on the app but the driver was very insistent and in a very unfriendly manner that we needed the paper version of the tickets to ride on his bus! We discussed this in a reasonable manner and got off the bus but he became very hostile when I took his photo . He got out of his seat and got off the bus and then would not let us walk away by blocking my husband physically and calling the police!!! We were not even on the bus. We wanted to go back to our hotel nearby to get the paper tickets!
His issue was that we took a photo of him!!
The police arrived very quickly as they were nearby and we explained the situation to them. They realised it was totally ridiculous but were not able to comment on the issue wit the paper v app ticket. They did request that we deleted the photo as it is illegal to take a photo of someone in Portugal without their consent. Good luck with that in the world of social media! So we deleted the photos & a video I front of the police and went on our way. We can of course recover the photo and video from our phones and will be very happy to share with you so you can see which of your drivers is giving yellow bus tours a very bad impression. We find it strange that he was so angry about the photo.. he must have something to hide?
All of that said… this issue only arose in he first place because your system is antiquated. Why have an app if the tickets on it are invalid.
