Be welcomed by panoramic vistas extending to the neighboring island of La Gomera, which often appears to float on the Atlantic like a serene, green mountain. On particularly clear days, you might even spot El Hierro or La Palma on the horizon.

Every angle here is photogenic—whether it’s the sea, the silhouette of La Gomera, or the rolling hills of Tenerife itself.
- Pico Viejo - 30-Minute Tour – Pico Viejo, Teide National Park
This brief yet impactful tour takes you to the dramatic landscape of Pico Viejo, the second-highest peak in Tenerife after Mount Teide, and a significant part of the island’s volcanic narrative.
At the Edge of a Crater
Pico Viejo is a vast volcanic crater and the site of one of Tenerife’s most remarkable eruptions in 1798.
Views That Tell a Story
From the viewpoint, enjoy sweeping views over Teide National Park, with layers of solidified lava, unique rock formations, and vivid colors in the volcanic soil—reds, blacks, and ochres. You can also see all the way to the coast, and on a clear day, even spot La Gomera, La Palma, or El Hierro in the distance.
Quick but Unforgettable Walk
Though it’s not a lengthy hike, the path brings you close to lava fields and allows you to peer into the vast crater. The air is thin, the sky often crystal clear, and the park’s silence enhances the surreal experience.
