Highlights
  • Panstwowe Muzeum Auschwitz-Birkenau - Visit the former Nazi concentration camps at Auschwitz and Birkenau on this 7-hour trip from Krakow. By June 1940, Jews and over 700 political criminals had been sent to Auschwitz and the atrocities had begun.

Birkenau was built by Auschwitz prisoners and by October 1941 was used as an extermination camp. Between 1 and 1.5 million were killed, and approximately 90 percent of those killed were Jews.

Before Auschwitz-Birkenau was liberated in January 1945, the SS attempted to blow up the camp and destroy the documentation. They were only partially successful, and the Polish government decided to restore the site as a memorial to the victims.

During this guided tour you will see both death camps Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II - Birkenau. Each part is guided by a professional and certified guide provided by the Auschwitz Birkenau Musuem

Quality service - Outstanding tour. The museum guides Was knowledgeable and did a great job answering the questions. With this organization you’re getting quality transport- we had I believe it was 17 in the van so it was very comfortable since it is more than an hour each way.

Excellent. Especially for people without a car or who can’t reserve a ticket on the official website - I highly recommend this trip. Tickets for Auschwitz are actually free to reserve on the official website but can be hard to get sometimes due to high demand. Having the tickets reserved for you is great. The hour and 15 minute travel is also included in the price as well as a tour guide who gave us a comprehensive and respectful tour. The guide keeps you moving at a perfect pace and this totals for a day outing of about 7 hours including travel. Because you have to keep with the group, there are places that you don’t explore but you have to take into consideration that, unfortunately, Auschwitz is a horrifyingly large place with lots of buildings. But you do get a pretty comprehensive tour and you get an understanding for what has taken place. I recommend this trip for people without a car or are unable to reserve a ticket.

Excellent tour to a very humbling and interesting place. - Krakow Direct were recommended by the hotel we stayed in. It was easy to book, and they have excellent communication. They picked us up from the hotel and dropped us back there after. Our tour guide and driver, Michael, was excellent , spoke perfect English and was very knowledgeable. Make sure to book ahead as our tour mini bus was full. Highly recommended.

Good tour, bumpy process - The tour guide was very knowledgeable and the Auschwitz tour was appropriately paced. Unfortunately she rushed us through Birkenau at a breakneck pace, perhaps because the entire tour started later than planned so it was nearly 5p when we were at Birkenau. Recognizing that the tour co has some lack of control on timing based on licensed guide availability, it was nonetheless a bumpy process with pickups, including a vehicle switch, and the drop off included a 20+ minute stop at a hotel to handle a payment dispute while the rest of us sat waiting in the van. I’m sure everyone was doing their best, and the operators were very kind, so hope they can iron out these sorts of kinks in the future.
