Wieliczka, a quaint town 10 km away from Krakow, is home to one of the biggest ancient salt mines in Europe that dates back 700 years. The mine plunges up to 340 metres deep, with a combined length of corridors and tunnels stretching beyond 245 kilometres. The visitor’s path is over 3 km long, featuring over 20 chambers, among them the largest and extraordinary St. Kinga’s Church - the guardian of miners. The trip was factual and logistical perfection - The lady guide was exceptional second to non for knowledge often reading selected text from local hand picked books and clarity in explaining every detail had to be witnessed. However, her emotional attachment to the subject referring to her grandparents took the experience to another level, thank you Helena. Additionally the complex nature of three trips demanded serious logistics, which were professionally delivered
