Highlights
  • Józefa 46 - Immerse yourself in Kazimierz, the most local and beloved district in Krakow. This is a former Jewish quarter, where every single home and building has its own fascinating story to tell — we’ll discover them as we explore, eat, drink, and mingle with locals. This tour will blend Krakow’s past and present in a way that showcases how the city’s history helped to shape the Krakow you see today.

This is also the neighborhood in which portions of Steven Spielberg’s Schindler’s List were filmed.

We will show you the synagogue and old Jewish cemetery and we will visit a WWII Museum located in the Schindler’s Factory without a line. We will take you to the real, not touristic part of Kazimierz and Podgórze neighborhoods you will never find on your own.

Synagogues and cultural centers stand side-by-side with charming bars and restaurants, while original Jewish inscriptions meet with modern murals, and kosher, traditional food can be found alongside modern food trucks.

Curious about what we mean? Imagine a square, which once housed a kosher slaughterhouse; that’s where you’ll now find one of the best spots to get a favorite local snack in Krakow, zapiekanka, an open-face sandwich.

Awesome Tour by Thomas! - Thomas was a wonderful tour guide! I learned so much on this tour. It initially started off with viator having booking mixed up (I had the Jewish quarter tour and Thomas had the communist tour), but Thomas made this right and met me at the meeting location located on the booking and we carried on with the Jewish quarter tour. It worked out perfectly! Thank you Thomas for making my trip to Krakow so special and for teaching me so much about Jewish history. It is something that I will never forget!

Wonderful Tour in the Jewish Quarter of Krakow - This was our second tour with Krakow Urban Tours and it didn't disappoint! Monika was a wonderful guide with an impressive historical insight. Her passion for Jewish culture made the tour really engaging. We learned so much in such a short time and greatly enjoyed the whole experience. There's so much to discover in Krakow and this is an amazing way to understand the city's history and culture. I'm super happy we did the tour and I'm going to recommend it to all my friends and family!

It gave us a great insight into life in the Jewish quarter and said what happened in the Ghetto... - The Escape2poland tour guide met us at the allocated time slot.. He introduced himself told us where he would take us on the tour and to ask questions if we wanted. He told us a lot about how the Jews live and places of importance . He took us to a small synagogue and explained some of their beliefs , he was very informative and it helped us to understand their way of life.. we went over a bridge to the ghetto and he told us some of the history from there, pointed out a museum that would be of interest , then took us to the Schindler list factory. It was a great tour with lots to think about.
