  • Krakow - Hotel pick-up and drive to Auschwitz, approximately 70 km away.
  • Panstwowe Muzeum Auschwitz-Birkenau - Established on April 27, 1940, Auschwitz became a site of extermination through inhumane conditions and the physical destruction of prisoners. Very daunting yet humbling at the same time - This trip was a must when we visited Krakow and we really enjoyed the tour. Kacper was our tour guide. He explained everything clearly, made sure everyone kept together as a group and paced it well. This is a very busy attraction but as mentioned the guide kept it moving quite nicely. We opted to pay for a packed lunch to be included which was absolutely the right thing to do as there's no place to buy food on site aside from a vending machine. The packed lunch was decent as well. Don't forget ID when you go. The experience itself was very humbling. Despite having a good idea of what went on in Auschwitz and Birkenau, seeing it and absorbing the scale of it was something different. I shant describe it in detail as I think you must see it for your self if it is of interest. For me and my wife it was worth every penny to get picked up and dropped off at the hotel and visit such a historic location.

A walk through history - An eye opening experience. It is utterly amazing how cruel humans can be over religion. This needs to be taught in schools, so that today's youth can understand how lucky they are.

Worth a visit - The camps are obviously a must see when visiting Poland so you can honour those who lost their lives and experienced the atrocities at Auschwitz and Birkenau. It's very fast paced so be prepared and lasts a couple of hours. Bring lunch/snacks with you as you have about 10-20 min break between both sites. We had Olek as a driver and he was lovely. Really polite and friendly. He did his absolute best to ensure we got a queue jump and got into the museum without hassle. However, be aware you are paying for transport to and from the camps, entry and a tour of the camps not with this company. We were put onto a Polish speaking tour and piggy backed into an English group when inside so it was initially a bit shambolic. Our group were under the impression the company would be guiding us around the camps but it ended up being a museum official guide and she was brilliant. Perhaps updating the description of the excursion would help minimise customer confusion. Thanks Olek :-)

While getting into the... - While getting into the facilities everything was good. However the experience while getting to the museum was not good. Pickup was called out to be 40 minutes earlier the day before (0720) and when we arrived we were told that we had a guide time at 1130 meaning that we had to wait 3 hours before even getting in.

Did not receive what I paid for! - Auschwitz is definitely somewhere I’d recommend going to. However we had a choice of 9am or 8am pick up, I chose 9am. The man then let me know late the night before that he would pick me up at 7:15!! I booked an English guided tour and as we got there so early there wasn’t any English tours available and so we had to have a Polish tour guide so we could not understand a word of what was being said. So I did not receive what I paid for at all. Viator is useless!

UNRELIABLE VIATOR- COMFORT TOURS KRAKOW - I booked on line on 07.05.24 a full day visit to Aushwitz including lunch with pick up at my Hotel Radisson Blue Krakow at 8hr00 for Saturday 11.05.24. I received ticket and confirmation for above the following day. I was contacted on 10.05.24 by Comfort Tours Krakow and they informed me that my day trip with lunch included, scheduled for pick up 8hr00 was moved to 13hr40 pick up the same day. This was not possible for me as it would result getting back to my Hotel at 22hr00 in the evening, which was not possible. You should not advertise and take confirmed booking and money from customers for Tours you cannot control and thus not giving a reliable service to customers. At no time in your conditions you mentioned that pick up time slots might alter due to Aushwitz load of tourists visiting. You should have visiting slots booked, allocated and confirmed before selling this Tour. I am very upset as it was my first trip to Krakow and looking forward to that visit, which I wanted to do from so long time, since I live in Mauritius which is 14 hours flight to Krakow. Now I only hope that I will get my full refund ( without any service or management fees deducted thereof ) paid back within 5 working days. Viator service is unreliable and its last time ever I will book something with them.

Rubbish - Very poor, ComFort was the guide company. Arrived 1hr40mins early, no jump the queue tickets, queued for 2.5hrs to get a ticket, then had to wait 2.5hrs for our allocated time to enter. No response from Viator or ComFort tours when complained. Total rip off, DO NOT USE.
