Cannot afford to miss while in Kolkata - Insightful delightful. Avik is a gem. His knowledge immense, his energy infectious. Skip all the noise that you see on social media, and savour the food that he suggets. Easily one of my top 3 tours.

A historic, authentic promenade through Calcutta’s most interesting eateries with a one-of-a-kind host - I booked this experience based on a strong colleague recommendation, intrigued by the substantial length and high ratings. Avik, our host, absolutely exceeded all expectations. This is more than just a food tour; it’s a promenade through historic Kolkatan neighbourhoods. Avik’s enthusiasm and passion were infectious, providing deep insights into the underrepresented side of Kolkata’s history and important figures. This perfect blend of history and gastronomy was truly exceptional. Logistics were flawless: our specific allergies were meticulously handled, and hygiene was clearly a top priority—if you’re hesitant about this element I’m happy to report that no one in our large group got sick. Thank you, Avik and team, for the excellent care! Quick Tip for large groups: Be aware that with a larger group, the experience may take 30-45 minutes longer than the anticipated 21:00 end time. It's well worth the time, but plan your evening accordingly.

One of the best food tours I have ever taken - Love exploring new places via food tours, as so much of our food is influenced culture, traditions, migrations of people, trade routes, what is locally available. Kolkata is such a kaleidoscope of cultures - which also reflects in its food. This food tour will definitely not disappoint. Avik is soo welcoming and shares his love for food, people of Kolkata with so much enthusiasm that it is contagious. Come with a super empty stomach - you will have so much delicious food to taste during the tour - that you will roll home in the end.. Fabulous tour with a super engaging tour leader, definitely a must do when a Kolkata. Loved it so much, go again on the next trip.

Amazing Street Food Tour - Our guide was amazing, he was engaging, informative and with a lovely sense of humour. He took us to areas we would never have visited and explained the culture of Kolkata. This is so much more than a street food tour and I would say it’s a must to really understand Kolkata

The Ultimate Kolkata Food Adventure — So Much More Than Just a Tour! - What an amazing experience! My food tour in Kolkata with Avik was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. We tasted incredible dishes and visited places I would never have found on my own — including a fish & chips spot with an Indian twist that was out of this world! We tried so many unusual and unique foods, far beyond the typical curries, and every stop was a delicious surprise. But what really made the evening special was Avik himself. He didn’t just introduce us to great food — he shared deep insights into Kolkata’s history, culture, and the complexities of modern-day India. His storytelling and knowledge added a rich layer of meaning to everything we tasted and saw. And to top it all off, we even toured the city in a colorful, light-filled, clubbing-style tuk-tuk — such a fun and memorable experience! This was more than just a food tour; it was a full cultural adventure. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to experience the real flavors and vibrant spirit of Kolkata!

Be ready for some walking, some learning, and lots of eating! - I was concerned about going solo as I did not want to barge in on someone else's group. Worked out great - it was a group of solo travelers. There was a lot more local history than I expected, not just food history - I found that very interesting. We met at the metro station and took a train to start our tour. We later took a bus, rickshaw, and a lot of walking... I had no idea where we were and that made it more fun. There was some amazingly good food, and some amazingly bad food, but that is all part of the adventure. 4 hours is probably a good length but I would love a couple more hours. I did my tour on my 1st night Kolkata, I am not a tour person, and I highly recommend this fun, informative, and delicious tour. 😎🍹🏝️

Nice way to see Old Kolkata - The tour guide met us and took us on 3 hour tour of several less visited places Took a metro ride to Shyam bazar had several local dishes at heritage spots from Mutton Kosha to battered prawns mango lassi and kulfi Avik the guide was very knowledgeable and took us through the history and showed us old gas clamps for the lights. The tour was very tiring as walking on the uneven pavement is not very easy We also took a ride on a richshaw A very interesting visit to unknown parts of old Kolkata
