A fascinating look at Hanoi’s colourful food underbelly - Really enjoyed our tour with Chef Duyen. She was an excellent guide and gave us a real insight into the wholesale market works and seems to know everybody. The mad hustle of the market at 4am was something to see. Tasted unfamiliar herbs and fruits and lots of cooked treats as well. Highly recommend!

CHEF 2 CHEF - Chef Duyen was Amazing. I did a private tour with her and it was more than what could be expected. Being a Private Chef myself she schooled on where all the product was from and how it was distributed, certain local ingredients that pair well . She took me to so many local spots . It was a pleasure just to share stories . Her English is great and so was her humor.

Incredible experience! A tremendous privilege. - An absolutely incredible tour, hands-down! It is honestly hard to put into words how wonderful of an experience this was. Duyen was a wonderful guide: so knowledgeable, with a deep experience of the market itself, as well as her own background as a chef. It was a tremendous privilege to get to see and learn about parts of the market that we absolutely would not have been able to visit without her guidance. We learned so much about the world of food in Vietnam and Hanoi specifically. And all of that is before even talking about the fantastic food we got to have! Complex and hearty bun cha and pho. Fresh fruits. An herb and chili-dip omelette. Sticky rice donuts. Banh mi and Vietnamese coffee. Bottom line: this was a tremendous experience, that would be hard to top, anywhere in the world!

Unmissable and Unique Experience! - This tour was without a doubt one of the coolest travel experiences I've ver had, and I'll be recommending it to absolutely everyone! Chef Duyen was soooo lovely (and hilarious!), knew everything and everyone at the market, and taught us so much. She showed us a side of Hanoi that we never, ever would have experienced otherwise, and it was truly a highlight of my time in Vietnam. The early start time is 100% worth it, and you'll feel like you're in a secret and vibrant world that rarely gets to be seen by tourists. I wish I could do this everywhere!

Another great Chef’s Tour - Duyen took my wife and I on a wonderful dawn market tour with lots of great food to eat as well. We did not feel rushed at all and we loved the authentic experience. Duyen is a chef so her expertise took us to places we never would have found on our own. She also showed us all her favorite areas where food would be served later in the day and was a wealth of knowledge. We are no stranger to Chef’s Tour and knew it would be good but she exceeded our expectations. Duyen was on time and also made sure we got back to our hotel safe. 10/10 highly recommended Duyen and Chef’s Tour for any trip!

Unique tour! - Wow! We thoroughly recommend this unique tour. Well worth the early start for an immersive experience into Hanoi’s wholesale food market, along with plenty of testing out of local food stalls. A wonderful guide who provided lots of insights - a real privilege to be given this opportunity to see that side of Hanoi. 100% recommend!

Fantastic eye opener into Hanoi food markets - Well needed hotel pick up as it’s a 4 am start for this tour, it has to be if you wish to see the morphing from wholesale to retail markets that takes place in the early hours around Hanoi
Our chef guide was superb in navigating these chaotic markets and guided us expertly through the meat, wet and fruit markets whilst selecting authentic food sellers that the local workers eat at during our tour.
We tasted all the well know street foods of Hanoi and ended our tour at a chill coffee stop at the outskirts of the market before being dropped back at our hotel.

Real eye opener on Hanoi’s food markets - Hotel pick up and drop off which is always a good idea. Especially as this was a 4 am start, but has to be if you want to see this side of the city as it morphs from wholesale markets to retail markets during the early hours of the day. It was fantastic to have a chef talk you through the areas and order authentic local street food as you wander through these extensive markets.

Wonderful foodie experience with local chef Duyen! - Thank you chef Duyen for a truly memorable experience! We had an early start exploring the Long Bien markets and saw so many interesting and wonderful things along the way, including the delivery and chopping of bones just around the corner from our hotel for making the Pho stock. Chef Duyen treated us to a wide variety of local and national dishes, all more delicious than the last! Her expert knowledge and friendly nature make this a must do tour when in Hanoi!!
