Do not miss this if you are in and around Amritsar. - If you want to experiance an authentic feel of a country village in Punjab Mr Jagroop is the right contact to get in touch with. From his farm tour to driving his tractor and most importantly heart warming welcome from his family. I shall always remember the food that was served. We live in metropolitan city and from direct farm to your plate is something that I always look for when i and my partner whenever we travel and that's what exactly I got here. I have been secretly pondering from the time I left Jagroop's place on how to figure out how I could get my hands on the authentic Jaggery and his home made pickle couriered to my place The warm hospitality of Jagroop and his family was both heartwarming and genuine. We were welcomed with open arms into their homes, and it felt as though we were a part of his family. There was a lot to learn from Jagroop his way of handling his guest, his knowledge on culture and history of the place and the community. The hours we spent over there just flew by. I hope Jagroop's plans to grow into a homestay happens soon. I am sure it would be an additional experiance altogether.

Time with the family - We had an amazing morning with our host and his family in the village. We were invited in to make pakora with the women, followed by tasting them. We chatted to the family and rode the tractor down to the fields and back again. Then got dressed in traditional clothing - even had our hair done before sitting down to lunch. Then for activities outside including posing for photos with the cattle. Honestly lovely experience- heart warming that the family just let us into their home. Just not what we expected, like many things in India- but I would thoroughly recommend the trip.

The best village visit! - Venturing into the local 'pind' (village) was a journey that truly allowed us to immerse ourselves in the vibrant rural life of Punjab. It stood out as a highlight of our trip, offering a glimpse into the heart and soul of this culturally rich region. The simplicity of the village was immediately striking, with dusty paths winding through picturesque scenes of humble dwellings and sprawling fields. Life here seemed to move at a different pace, far removed from the hustle and bustle of city life. The warm hospitality of the villagers was both heartwarming and genuine. We were welcomed with open arms into their homes, and it felt as though we were not merely tourists but long-lost friends. Their eagerness to share their culture and way of life was palpable, leaving a lasting impression on us. The aroma of traditional Punjabi cuisine wafted through the air, beckoning us towards delectable flavors synonymous with the region. We savored a mouthwatering breakfast of pakodas, gur ki chai, makai ki roti, and sarson ki saag, tantalizing our taste buds. Our host, Jagroop, was a gracious host and a treasure trove of historical and cultural knowledge. Through his narratives, we gained insight into the plight and history of the Sikh community, their challenges during the partition, and their role as political pawns in India's tumultuous history. Venturing into the local 'pind' was a transformative experience that allowed us to appreciate the true essence of Punjab – its daily life, traditions, and the unwavering spirit of its people. The simplicity, warmth, and rich cultural heritage we encountered in the village left an indelible mark on our hearts, reminding us of the beauty of genuine connections and the power of shared stories. It was an experience we will cherish forever, a window into the soul of Punjab. Anushi
