Fun, educational, and active day in Naivasha! - This is a private trip, and I went solo. Immediately following booking, I was reached out to by Lesley, where she confirmed the details of my booking with me. In the morning of the trip, Patrick, the driver, connected with me to confirm the pickup time. We discussed potentially doing earlier, and agreed on the time. Patrick was prompt with pickup, and immediately upon instructions, I knew I was in store for a lovely day! Patrick drove us to our first location: Great Rift Valley viewpoint. During the journey, Patrick was kind and talkative. We chatted about some of the sights that we were passing, life in Kenya, how to negotiate in markets, and driving in Kenya. Patrick shared his life with me, and I mine; we truly bonded! My trip was during rainy season, so we also discussed ordering of activities to mitigate rain. I was super flexible, and appreciated the transparency in day planning.  At Great Rift Valley, we stopped at a particular shop, where I was introduced to a guide who gave me context and history about the valley, Mt Longmont, Maasai people, and how Kenya gets 49% of its energy. Incredibly informative info. I had an opportunity to shop in the shop, where I negotiated and made a purchase :)). After this, we went to Hell's Gate. We met up with Reagan (the guide), who had preselected a bike that I was happy with after test riding. We drove briefly to the entrance of Hell's Gate, where we purchased tickets and waited for our bikes to be delivered. Reagan and I then spent the next few hours in Hell's Gate. Reagan was incredibly knowledgeable! He gave me so many bits of info that  I didn't even think to ask about. We discussed more about Kenya's clean energy, but spent the majority of the time talking about the animals and plants we were seeing along our ride. There's a great story in the name of the park (both Hell's Gate and Elsa National Park) -- make sure to listen in on this story!  The bike is 16km in total (8km there and 8km back). If you are unable to complete this, at any point you can ask to be picked up. I was able ot ride the whole ride, and really loved biking in nature. Incredibly peaceful. Reagan biked at my pace, and was more than willing to take photos and videos for me. At the halfway point, you do a walk thru of the gorge, where you see the inspo for Lion King, can experience some of the hot and blessed water seeping through the rocks, and see beautiful rock formations up close. There are some stairs on this journey + slippery rocks, so be cautious and prepared. We saw so many animals on the ride and walk. After Hell's Gate we went off to Lake Naivasha for the boat tour. I joined forces with another private group (I was completely OK with this) for the tour and lunch thereafter. The boat tour was so great!! It was fun being out on the water. Dennis was our guide here. He slowly navigated the boat throughout the water and was very considerate. He made sure we all left with photos we liked, and was also sure to get us up close to the animals.  The last stop was lunch. At this point, I'd been out since 7AM, and it was now 3:30-4PM. Prepare accordingly for food that you may need during this time window (I was fine with late lunch / early dinner). Lunch was really good, though the staff definitely leaned into pole pole with food delivery speed (likely only noticed because we hadn't eaten all day haha).  At this point, Patrick drove me back to my hotel safe and sound. I had been picking up Swahili throughout the day, so Patrick quizzed me and taught me a few more words and phrases as we drove back to my hotel!  This was a wonderful day, and I highly highly encourage everyone to do these activities with this particular group of people. They are knowledgeable, kind, and care very deeply that you have a phenomenal experience!!!

Great bicycle ride and a canyon hike in Hell’s Gate National Park - We (a couple) had a great time on our bike ride in Hell’s Gate National Park. Our travel agent (Kentau Safaris) had booked a guided tour with the Hell’s Gate Community Tour Guides. The tour consisted of about 8.5 km ride from the Elsa Gate to the Ol Njorowa Gorge, 2-3 km walking up and down the gorge, and a bike ride back to the Elsa Gate. The landscapes on the way and inside the gorge were spectacular and we got very close to the wild animals. Seeing the animals from a bicycle is, somehow, more intimate that seeing them from a safari vehicle. Our guide, Robert (+254 725894994; [email protected]) was great! He is very knowledgable about the animals and the area; a very good communicator and with a good sense of humour. He had answers to all our questions and also told us many things without us asking (some of our guides in Kenya do not necessarily volunteer much information). He was also very relaxed and allowed us to choose the pace, which was very relaxed as there was so much in the environment to take in. The bikes we got were a little run down. We tried out a few before picking the ones we ended up using. As it turned out, we were unnecessarily worried about this as the pace on this ride is very slow, as we had our eyes on the landscape and the animals. The ride is also fairly flat. In the end the old bikes we used were just perfect for the job. We rode on the main road through the HGNP but there was very little traffic. We strongly recommend this ride and our guide to anyone that can ride a bike for a couple of hours. You do not need to be in perfect physical shape to enjoy this ride.

Awesome day to Hell’s Gate and Lake Navaisha with Jimmy - I joined a one-day tour to Lake Naivasha and Hell’s Gate. My driver guide was Jimmy who worked responsibly and professionally throughout the day. He patiently answered all my questions about everything here and I was really happy that a local shares so much about how life here is. That is really rewarding - as someone from far away, I want to visit the spots, but other than that knowing people and their cultures makes the experience more eye-opening and worthwhile. Jimmy is truly friendly and accommodating. Would definitely him as a guide. The guide at Hell’s Gate Victor and John during the boat ride were nice too.

Highly Recommend the Day Tour to Lake Naivasha and Hell’s Gate Park - Made an online inquiry and received detailed information and confirmations via email and What’s App. Jimmy was an excellent driver. He communicated well and arrived on time for pickup. Once at Hell’s Gate, he helped select a bicycle for cycling and paired me with a knowledgeable guide to tour Hell’s Gate. Jimmy was there waiting when I returned from the Hell’s Gate tour; no need to call or message to find. Then, went to lunch and the boat ride at Lake Naivasha. Jimmy checked throughout the day to make sure that I was having a good time and if anything was needed.

Amazing Hell’s Gate Tour – Biking Through the National Park ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Hell’s Gate is wild and beautiful—towering cliffs, open plains, and a gorge carved by time. We biked 18 km through it, spotting zebras, giraffes, baboons, impalas, buffalo, & rock hyraxes. Our guide, Edward, shared not just the route, but his deep knowledge of the land and local culture. The hike and climb through the gorge felt like stepping into another world. A powerful way to experience the landscape and spirit of this place. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We had a great time at... - We had a great time at Hell's Gate National Park with Isaac and the guides in the park! Isaac was prompt and communicative, picking us up on time at our hotel. He was very knowledgeable of Nairobi and the country in general. Once we got to the park, we had an incredible time biking around and walking through the gorge. We saw a ton of wildlife - giraffes, zebras, impalas, baboons, etc. Afterwards, Isaac took us to a lunch spot which was great too. All in all, excellent tour!
