South Iceland
Skogafoss - Skógafoss is a renowned Icelandic waterfall and the starting point of the Fimmvörðuháls hiking trail leading into Þórsmörk. It was also featured in the films Thor: The Dark World and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.
Seljalandsfoss - Part of the Seljalandsá river, originating from the Eyjafjallajökull glacier, Seljalandsfoss is famous for allowing visitors to walk behind it. A raincoat or waterproof coat is recommended for those wishing to do so.
Vik - Vík is a picturesque village surrounded by towering bird cliffs, with a population of 300.
Jokulsarlon - Massive ice blocks frequently break off the Breiðamerkurjökull glacier, creating large icebergs that float in the lagoon. Although not very wide, the lagoon is up to 250 meters deep, making it Iceland’s deepest lake. Breiðamerkurjökull is an outlet of the Vatnajökull glacier.
Fellsfjara - Known as the Diamond Beach, this stretch of black sand is located by the Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon. Here, icebergs from the lagoon wash ashore, creating a striking contrast against the black sand.
Snæfellsnes National Park
Snæfellsnes - The Snæfellsnes peninsula in western Iceland is like a miniature version of the entire island. It showcases stunning examples of Iceland’s renowned natural wonders, including black beaches, majestic mountains, volcanic craters, diverse birdlife, enchanting caves, and the picturesque Snæfellsjökull glacier. The tour includes a stop at the quaint fishing village of Arnarstapi and offers insights into volcanic craters. Along the way, enjoy views of the iconic Kirkjufell mountain and the dark cliffs and black sand of Djúpalónssandur bay, a favorite among photographers. At the heart of this beautiful peninsula lies Snæfellsjökull, the captivating glacier that inspired Jules Verne’s “Journey to the Centre of the Earth.” The tour provides numerous views of this remarkable landmark.
The Lava Tunnel & Whale Watching
Raufarholshellir - Explore the Raufarhólshellir lava tunnels, a natural wonder formed during the Leitahraun eruption approximately 5200 years ago. A guide will lead you through the tunnel’s vibrant landscape, enhanced by beautiful lighting.
Reykjavik - Continue the adventure with a Whale Watching tour from the Old Harbour in downtown Reykjavík, courtesy of Special Tours Wildlife Adventures. Witness the fascinating behavior of whales in Faxaflói bay, including minke whales, harbor porpoises, humpback whales, and white-beaked dolphins.
Blue Lagoon
Blue Lagoon - Relax in the warm, soothing waters of the Blue Lagoon, one of the world’s wonders, during your visit to Iceland. The Blue Lagoon is a must-see attraction, offering a unique experience with its lava and moss-filled surroundings, state-of-the-art facilities, and silica masks that leave your skin firm and soft. Visitors from around the globe flock to the Blue Lagoon daily, with many returning time and again. After enjoying all the Blue Lagoon has to offer, return to Reykjavík.
