Helicopter to Everest South Base Camp - Went with my wife and 2 teenage children on the Helicopter to Everest South Base Camp. I have probably been to 50 countries on every continent. I have seen natural wonders all over the world. I have taken helicopter rides through the Grand Canyon, along the Napali coast of Hawaii and to the top of the Matterhorn. I have been all over the Rocky Mountains, the Alps, and the Andes. This helicopter ride from Kathmandu to Everest South Base camp was by far the most spectacular thing I have ever seen in my life!! Even before this trip I had been to both Tibet and Nepal. I had even already been to Everest North Base Camp on an earlier trip. I thought I knew what to expect and my expectations were already set pretty high. I wondered if the relatively high cost of the trip was worth it. I can now say it was worth every penny. I was blown away by how good it was! If you have time to do the full trek to base camp I am sure that is an awesome experience. However, if you don't have the energy or the time to make the two week trek this is probably the best way to see the very heart of the highest mountains on earth. Seeing Everest is only just a small part of the experience. The only downside of doing something like this is that it is all downhill for any other trip. I can't imagine I will ever see anything more spectacular on this planet in my lifetime. My experience with Bhagwat Simkhada at Himalayan adventure was superb. Top notch operation! Highly recommended!
