Additional Information

Karlovy Vary is a renowned spa municipality in the Czech Republic, established circa 1350 by Charles IV, the Holy Roman Emperor and King of Czech.

The city’s core stretches along a thin valley of the Tepla River, overlooked by verdant high hills. Spellbinding architectural structures of spa hotels align the colonnade and pedestrian zone, which includes the widely celebrated Grand Hotel Pupp, featured in the film Last Holiday, and the well-regarded Hotel Thermal, host to the globally recognized Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.

The town of Karlovy Vary has gained global recognition due to the curative attributes of the local mineral springs, numbering close to a hundred, with temperatures fluctuating between 30 to 73 degrees Celsius at various depths.

During the 18th and 19th centuries, this spa town was a favored destination for nobility, alongside poets, writers, and musicians.

Beautiful Town - Karlovy Vary was a great side trip before hitting Prague. It's so beautiful - great energy and everyone is so welcoming. It's about 2 hrs. from Václav Havel Airport in Prague and about 1-1/2 hrs. from Prague, well worth visiting.

Private day trip to Karlovy Vary - Great visit even with bad weather. Our tour guide Tatiana was very knowledgeable about the area. Would recommend this trip.
