- Varlaam Monastery - The Varlaam Monastery, or Monastery of All the Saints, is situated on a commanding rock directly opposite the Great Meteoron and is the second largest monastery.
- Great Meteoron Monastery - The Monastery of Great Meteoron, or Transfiguration of Christ, embodies the grandeur and history of the Holy Meteora, being the oldest and most significant monastery.
- Saint Nicholas Monastery - The Monastery of Saint Nicholas of Anapafsas appears to be suspended in the air on a small rock and is the first monastery encountered on the route from Kastraki village to the stone forest of Holy Meteora.
- Holy Trinity Monastery (Agia Triada) - The Monastery of the Holy Trinity is the third oldest in Meteora and is the most challenging to access, requiring visitors to traverse a downhill path and then climb 145 steps carved into the rock.
- St. Stephen’s Monastery - Located just above the city of Kalampaka, the Monastery of Saint Stephen’s is the most accessible monastery in Meteora, with no steps to reach the entrance and easy access via a small stone bridge.
- Byzantine Church of the Assumption of Virgin Mary - Situated in the old district of Kalampaka, the Byzantine church of the Assumption of Virgin Mary is the oldest preserved monument in the Meteora region. Believed to have been built before the 7th century, the church officially dates back to the 11th century, 300 years before the monasteries in Meteora were constructed. Remnants of an ancient Greek temple of Apollo are embedded in the church wall.
- Meteora - The Monastery of Saint Nicholas “Badovas” or “Kofinas” was established in the 14th century on the site of an old hermitage and is located on the edge of Meteora, in the canyon separating Kastraki from Kalampaka, within a cave on a steep cliff. Renovated in 1893 by Eugenia, the first woman nun, the monastery is structured into six levels, 50 meters above the ground. The temple on the 5th floor features exquisite 18th-century murals and remarkable ecclesiastical heirlooms. Although renovated, the monastery remains uninhabited. The path leading to the monastery is worth following to also admire the hermitage of Saint Gregory the Theologian and the hermitage of Saint Anthony in the same canyon.
