Lovely Walk to the top of Old Fort Mountain in Jasper - Jasper is back! The fire did an extensive bit of damage, but as this tour showed, the forest is on the rebound and there is plenty to see and do. Our guide Nick was very knowledgeable about the flora and fauna, which made this hike a truly amazing experience. The hike included a picnic lunch of homemade soup and a sandwich. Really good food and the view from the top of Old Fort mountain was spectacular. The hike takes about 2 hours and is a gentle walk to get to the top of the mountain. We are both in our 60s and had no issues getting around on the trails.

Fantastic Experience - We visit Jasper every year, and we needed to go again this year - to help support the community after the devastating wildfire last year. This tour gives you an up close and personal view of a tiny portion of the impacted area. The trail here has been cleared, and it is a very safe way to see first hand, and have explained, the ecology of a wildfire, how the regrowth is happening, and learn a little about the fire. Our guide Nick was excellent - I cannot say enough good things about how he conducted the tour. It was a cloudy cool day, and the hot lunch was certainly appreciated once we got to the summit. The pace was perfect. There is a short steeper part of the trail, but it should be doable by anyone who has even the most basic mobility. We were the only 2 people in the group, but I'm sure this will get busier in the summer.
