Additional Information

Strolling along the intermingling narrow and expansive paths of this historic yet methodically designed city offers not just insights into its past, but also immerses you in a culture that spans over two and a half centuries. Our walking tours are led by knowledgeable architecture students, who bring a passion and depth of understanding to every discourse about the cityscape.

Our itinerary intentionally avoids the well-trodden monuments that are typically featured in tourist circuits and focuses instead on the winding streets of Jaipur, where the tapestry of human histories is revealed and every dwelling has its own narrative to share.

The journey also delves into the rationale and methodology behind the city’s construction, its distinctive architectural style, the rich tapestry of its cultural heritage, and most pivotally, centers on the inhabitants of Jaipur and their way of living.

Food tour - Definitely worth every penny! Our guide was amazing. His story telling was engaging, full of facts and he made it so much fun. As a solo I also felt at ease as he was very friendly, very personable and make sure to speak to every single person during the walks in between. You do walk quite a bit so I would suggest wearing trainers.

Educational and incredible! - I did this tour when I was staying in Jaipur and I LOVED IT! It was such an informative and educational tour that explored the history of the Pink City and Jaipur. I learned so many incredible facts and saw some amazing things that I wouldn’t have experienced without going on the tour. Shrey (the tour guide) had such a wealth of knowledge of the city and could answer every question I had on the tour. The guides were friendly and helpful and really made the experience incredible. I highly recommend doing this tour if you want to see the city from a local and historic point of view!!

A tour by locals with great stops and interesting history - I spent time with Shrey and Ajay on their walking tour through Jaipur. First off, they are fun guys to be around and kept the tour fun with their humor. They were also very knowledgeable about the city and its history, pointing out different things about the architecture and taking us to places we wouldn't be able to go without them. We stopped for chai and tried some interesting foods along the way. I would greatly recommend this tour for an insiders look.

Solid tour! - Shrey was a great tour guide, showing us hidden gems in the side streets such as the utensil 'factory' and the temple. When you're walking around India it's hard to understand the goings on of the temple but everything was explained. As an architecture student he's really well placed to describe everything in the Pink City and fully recommend doing a tour for a few hours. The spot he took us to to view Hawa Mahal can't be beaten. Recommend fully!

Guide never showed - The tour guide never showed up. I arrived at the specified location 10 min early (7:50 am), and waited until 8:35 am. I tried calling the tour provider contact number, but it wasn't in service. I contacted Trip Advisor/Viator and they were also unable to get in touch with the tour provider. Really disappointed. The tour provider really should provide a valid, working number. I have requested a refund.

Bogus - Don't get Scammed - Requested a refund because the guide didn't show up for this tour. Fortunately, the people at the hostel where we were to meet were very nice and help me to make other plans. They too were disturbed that their location was being used by BackpackIndia. THe phone number and contact details were bogus too. So I wasn't able to confirm or get in touch with anyone associated wit this tour. Don't get scammed - do not book this tour.
