45th Cerejeira Festival
The Cerejeiras Festival is a wonderful collaborative event that draws a large crowd annually. The festival’s activities are held in the presentation arena, the food square, the Cerejeiras Forest, and the Planetarium.
The event showcases performances by folk dance groups, community singers and dancers, and Taiko groups, featuring the traditional Japanese drums. Additionally, there are dome sessions and exhibitions of paintings related to Japanese culture at the Planetarium.
Attendees can enjoy a variety of traditional dishes such as Udon, Yakisoba, Temaki, Tempura, Sushi, Gyoza, Sakura-mochi, and more.
In the Forest, visitors can admire the cherry blossoms, “Sakura,” during a delightful “Hanami,” which is the art of flower viewing.
As a complementary attraction, the “Tanabata,” or the 4th Star Festival, invites participants to write their wishes on sacred strips of paper (“tanzaku”), which are burned during the closing ceremony, sending the wishes to the stars.
