An impressive discovery of the salt pans and their beautiful nature. - A definite recommendation! The salt pans of Trapani are a beautiful and impressive environment, with a special nature and a landscape that really stays with you. The guided tour was very interesting and made the visit much more than just looking around. You get a nice insight into the history and traditional salt production. The combination of the special environment, nature, and the interesting explanation made this one of the most beautiful outings during my stay in Trapani for me. Definitely do it if you are in the vicinity of Trapani!

Beautiful visit - If you are staying or happen to be in Trapani, even just passing through, I strongly suggest visiting the salt pans. It lasts a little less than 2 hours if you do the full experience with the salt harvesting. The visit to the salt pan is of the Museum is truly interesting. Many young people, students who work during the summer, work as guides, and for this reason alone it should be visited. Plus, they are super competent and help you discover an ancient but still living trade.

A fascinating experience - A beautiful and interesting walk in the salt mines accompanied by an expert and passionate guide who made us experience both the past and the history of the place and the present. I recommend the visit to be able to realize that even behind a simple grain of salt there is work, passion, and ingenuity. The price, for what is offered, is truly negligible.

Unique experience. - A unique experience, especially suitable for children, but it is not bad for adults either. The surrounding environment is fabulous for us visitors. The salt harvesting method was explained to us, and we tried it firsthand. The price of the experience should be adjusted, in my opinion. Excessive based on what is offered.

A must-see at sunset - Very beautiful, wild, and evocative. The guide who took us around outdoors was not particularly prepared, whereas the guide inside the Museum was excellent. The sunset was spectacular.

A missed opportunity! - On 08/19/2026, after booking online, together with friends and relatives (a group of 9 people, including seven adults and two children), I participated in the "Salt pans and Salt museum tour". The tour, with a presumed duration of 75 minutes, assumed a visit with an explanation of how the collection pans work and the subsequent guided tour of the museum. First of all, I believe that from a purely educational point of view, it would be appropriate to visit the museum first and then the collection pans; in this way, the visitor approaches the technical aspect after having learned the history of the salt pans, their owners, all the actors involved in the collection process, and the methods of implementation of the same. In our case, however, the tour started with the visit to the salt pans. The young man who acted as our pseudo-guide, whose name we didn't get to know because he didn't introduce himself, gave the impression of repeating a lesson learned just before, with the aggravating factor of not being able to answer a few questions. The hasty explanation took place almost entirely at the beginning of the tour, when it would have been more appropriate to develop it step by step, accompanying the visitors from pan to pan for a detailed description of the entire process. During the only two moves, the guide never bothered to gather the group, waiting for it to regroup for the continuation of the route. I will spare you the comments, which were anything but flattering, from the Sicilian and other visitors about this tour, which was perceived as improvised. Fortunately, I can say something completely different about the visit to the museum, which, thanks to a prepared, competent, and professional guide, was a very educational and extremely pleasant experience. As a native of Trapani, I cannot help but be deeply sorry and disappointed by the management and organization, because if we are not capable of properly valuing what we have, let alone how others can appreciate it. If we add to this that the 16 euro ticket cost is anything but cheap, I wonder why a family of four should face such an expense when they can get the same information on the internet or by reading the explanatory boards near the salt pans. Obviously, the view of the sunset in that setting remains wonderful. I trust in greater professionalism and competence.
