Excellent Taste of Istanbul Tour - If you have any desire to try local and traditional dishes, we highly recommend the Taste of Istanbul tour. In fact, do it early on your trip and you'll be prepared to identify and order off any restaurant menu without unwanted surprises. We tried a dozen different food, drinks, and desserts over the course of several hours while walking through many colorful neighborhoods. Our guide explained each dish we tried - in great English and he covered not only the ingredients in each but the importance of each one. He helped us order and found us seats to sit together to create a truly unique experience. We went home nourished at many levels.

Great Host, Great Food! - We had a fantastic afternoon with Hasan. We met outside a restaurant that was easy to find on Google Maps. After a quick ferry ride, we walked around some neighborhoods while discussing this history of Istanbul and popular foods. Hasan asked about our food allergies and preferences and then introduced us to an array of delicious Turkish foods. Everything was delicious (and I'm a picky eater). Afterwards, he helped us get to our next destination. I highly recommend this tour, but I also recommend skipping breakfast because you're going to eat a lot for lunch.

Best Guidebook I've ever read. - I bought this guidebook and OMG — it’s the best! You learn so much about Turkish food, neighborhoods, and culture. Everything is described with a great sense of humor and from a truly local perspective. I’ve come across and bought many guidebooks, but this one really stood out. If you’re visiting Istanbul, don’t look anywhere else — just buy this guidebook and the rest is history. Plus, you can even reach out to the author if you need help. Must buy if you are visiting Istanbul - I was initially unsure if this guidebook would be beneficial, but it turned out to be the best purchase I’ve ever made on this platform. Hasan is incredibly helpful and communicative. The guidebook is packed with information that I couldn’t find anywhere else online. The best part? The map pins for attractions and restaurants! Plus, for every dish you learn about, you can simply click, and it directs you to the specific restaurant recommended for that dish.
