Cheap way to get to the fortress - A great and cheap way to get around, notably to the Palamadi, a taxi costs 30 euros (2023) with only 20 minutes at the fortress

Amazing tour!!!! - this was our first trip after the pandemic to Greece.we chose after Athens to visit Nafplion and with this open top bus tour we had the opportunity to have a complete view of the city with a descent audio guide commentary. Absolutely value for money.

Everything was great - Very enjoayable and scenic ride. We also learned a lot about the city through the headphones that were provided to us.

Easy trip to fort for a larger group - Least expensive way to reach the fort for a 1 hour tour ( which was enough). No other stops were made. Just returned us to the starting location by the dock. A few other spots were referenced via the head phones.

Very negative experience - Even though we had purchased tickets, we still had to wait in line over an hour, with all the other people who had not purchased tickets. We may as well have not purchased the tickets through Viator. Then, even though it was supposed to be "Hop on Hop off", they announced that we could only get off at one place. This was the worst experience and left a bad taste. The only reason it wasn't rated lower, was that our female bus driver was nice. The reason I identify her gender is that we had a brief experience with the other driver (male) and he was a curmudgeon.

If you're on a cruise, Hop off this bus! (Take a cab) - We were excited to use the hop on hop off bus in nafplion as it didn't seem like there was much to do. We were on a cruise ship visiting. First off, this is a tender port. So everyone gets off in a group. We beelined it to the bus stop but there was a large queue already. I suggest you do not prebuy tickets as they are very cheap and you can just get a cab unless you already bought them. They were extremely unorganized and everyone was continually jockeying to get on the bus. There were only 2 buses that filled quickly. No shade in line. We finally Got on the 3rd bus excited to see the area. They drove to the castle but there were just as many people waiting to get on the bus there. Everyone stayed on the bus and we heard the group at the castle begging to get let on but three was no room. Spend the few dollars more to taxi to the castle that's all there is to see if it's crowded on the bus stops. Imo nafplion is a waste of a ship stop as they are not setup for that many people on a time crunch. If you do go. Get a cab. Buy a few drinks at the store (things are cheap there) take a walk to get a little local flair, maybe find a beach, but don't expect it to be a great sightseeing spot especially on this bus.

Beware - OK it was the last trip of the day but that does not excuse grumpy driver who made a large and un acknowledged mistake in payment (refused to take a card ) or the poor quality of the audio guide, which degenerated into intelligibility two thirds of the way through. The guide itself assumed advanced knowledge of Greek history and heroes.

Save your money and skip this - Where to start? We bought our tickets online for €10 but they were selling tickets on the bus for €8. Waited 45 minutes for a bus because drivers didn’t stop at all the stops leaving riders stranded. Skip this and take an Uber instead.

Awful trip - Firstly the driver didn’t even recognise Viator… he had to find someone else that dealt with tickets that it was ok. It was not even a hop on/off bus it just took you up to the castle, it was the only place you were offered to get off - no other stops 16euro per person was an absolute rip off.
