Our tours elevate the dolphin watching experience. Our guide is familiar with most of our local dolphins and will acquaint you with them as we encounter them. We will show you how to differentiate them too! You will not only get to know the dolphins as individuals, but you will also learn about the bottlenose dolphin species and their adaptation to our local coastal ecosystem. Our journey takes us through the waters around Pinckney Island and the Calibogue Sound, scouting for dolphins, water birds, and other marine life.

Boat Ride with Dolphin Viewing - My wife and I were looking for something to do on Hilton Head and a short boat ride to see dolphins seemed like a good idea. It was. The tour was well organized, from the time we parked until the time we left. The trip is a little over an hour and we saw several groups of dolphins very close to the boat. Amanda, the guide, did a really good job. She provided a lot of details of the dolphins and the ecology of the area in general. We would recommend scheduling a tour during low tide if you can since there is more to see along the water.

Caution. Read prior to renting a boat from this marina. - Our family rented the Mermaid tour boat for a dolphin tour. We specially rented the boat called the “Carolina Snowball” which holds 24 people because, we were told, that it was wheelchair/ADA accessible. It was our understanding that the boat would take us on a 75 minute ride up and down Scull Creek; however, the boat did nothing more than hover and turn around several times not far from the southern and northern location of the marina. Although we saw plenty of dolphin, the boat went no where. We asked why we were not traveling up or down the creek and the Captain did not respond. We asked if we could travel further down the creek and he did not respond. And, because the gap between the boat and the end of the dock was substantial, we had to physically lift and hand carry the wheelchair of our handicapped passenger onto the boat. We mentioned this to Captain Scott and he did not seem to care, nor did he offer to help. The cost of the boat rental was approximately $1,000 for 75 minutes which, in our opinion, was very expensive and, for what we got, excessive. We do not recommend this boat tour nor do we recommend the Captain. He was indifferent to our needs and unsympathetic regarding our requests. There are other boat rental options on HHI; therefore, we suggest that you investigate these prior to renting a boat at this marina.
