Before embarking on this journey, it’s important to note that the tour showcases local cuisine, and due to the nature of street food vendors, we regretfully cannot accommodate all dietary restrictions. Here’s a candid overview of the tour to ensure everyone has the right expectations:
- Not suitable for vegetarian diets, as there would be 3-4 fewer tastings.
- Not suitable for severe allergies, halal, and celiac diets, due to potential traces and cross-contamination.

- Hoi An - Experience a unique side of Hoi An’s heritage through a curated food adventure like no other.
The journey begins with a steaming bowl of cao làu noodles, hand-cut from the original family house using water drawn that morning from the ancient Bà Lê well. This culinary journey is just beginning, with over 15 tastings in total - from smoky marinated meat skewers to shredded com gà chicken with aromatic rice.
Hidden away is an alleyway spot serving black sesame xí mà soup for over 70 years, made from the same secret recipe as the centenarian couple who created it. Next, we’ll explore the market to find stalls discovered by Anthony Bourdain, where the tapioca shrimp dumplings originate from the royal court kitchens of Huế.
- Hoi An - The culinary journey takes us to the nearby island village of Tra Que, for an exclusive invitation from an organic farmer to the 400-year-old community. There’s a hands-on experience to fire-grill rice paper and pick fresh herbs, before indulging in a farm-to-table feast: claypot braised eggplant, sizzling bánh xèo pancake, and “three friends” spring onion rolls, among other delightful surprises.
- Hoi An - Back in town, we’ll discover how the same family has been expertly wrapping Hoi An’s white rose dumplings for over 100 years, mastering the art of this unique dish.
Prepare to uncover the authentic foodie scene that tourists often miss and would be difficult to find on your own. Come with an appetite - the enthusiastic guides are your perfect hosts to Hoi An’s diverse Vietnamese cuisine.
