Additional Information

Our tours are conducted by people who live in the village. We are locals who live, love, and promote our heritage-listed village. Our tour is therefore filled with loads of local content. We have many stories, but our two favorites are honoring the Prussian ‘old Lutherans’ who escaped religious persecution to flee to South Australia. A place they didn’t even know existed. The other is the one about the Prussian pioneering women and their courage and tenacity in saving the colony from starvation. You’ll leave Hahndorf with stories to last a lifetime to share with family and friends.

WALKING TOUR OF HAHNDORF - A VERY SPECIAL EXPERIENCE - We received a gift voucher for the tour and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Our guide Sharon was very friendly and so knowledgable about the history of Hahndorf. As a local resident she also gave us lots of information about current day businesses, making suggestions about other places we could visit while we were in the town. After previously visiting just the main street, it was great to look deeper into how the town has progressed over the years. We would recommend the Walking Tours to others.

Time travel with a knowledgeable guide - Well researched and riveting tour by the lively Sharon who took us into the very beginning of Hahndorf and all the trials, tribulations and triumphs of the founding German families. Includes access to historic buildings not accessible to the public! Loved it.

Wandering the streets of Hahndorf - My husband and I did the afternoon and night walking tour at Hahndorf. We really enjoyed learning about the history, architects, and people who built the area. Sharon was our tour guide, she was fantastic at explaining the history of the town and making the walking tour fun and enjoyable. We had dinner at The Haus restaurant followed by the night walking tours which was a great closing to our day in Hahndorf. This tour is highly recommended! Thank you Sharon and the team.

A must for visitors to Hahndorf - Both Sharon & Lorraine went above and beyond to ensure that my husband and I were able to take the tour during a relatively short holiday in Adelaide and competing arrangements. Sharon is a wonderful, knowledgeable and genuine person who really wants visitors to get the most out of their visit to the region. Lorraine was our tour guide. She is very personable and knowledgeable and helped to make the history of Hahndorf come alive. When in Hahndorf, do not simply walk along the street and look at the buildings/shops. Book a walking tour to learn about the history of what you are seeing, and visit places beyond the main street.

A brilliant way to truly understand the history of Hahndorf - We had only arrived in Hahndorf (2 night stay) an hour or so earlier, so a walking tour with Loraine was an excellent introduction to the town. She was excellent and so full of facts and information about history of the place; able to convey the information in such a calm and pleasant way. We were both really glad to have done the tour, without which we probably wouldn't have realised the history and great endeavours that had taken place.

May be a scam? - Comunication regarding booking service was very poor. No direct contact available regarding personal contact. Mobile no refers you verbaly to another mobile no? Sent an email in stead but alas no reply. When we turned up at Hahndorf Inn to hopefully participate in the walking tour, the staff were not aware of such an event at all! So l just stood waiting for a group to assemble, but alas no such assembly was apparent? All i can say just as well i did not use the booking service to take my money, I suspect the return of my money would have been just as elusive!
