Great experience - We had 2 nice, young guides who explained what was allowed and what wasn't. We actually saw whales, including a mother with her baby. The crew treated the whales very respectfully. It was a wonderful, amazing experience.

amazing and a lifetime memory - Superb trip with just 3 couples, so plenty of space and very relaxed. Captain and his mate knew the best area to seek the whales. We were privileged to observe 3 humpbacks, including mother and calf. Absolutely amazing and a lifetime memory. Highly recommend this crew who kept a respectful distance from the whales.

Mauritius LUX Grand Gaube - We have been to Mauritius many times and debated whether it was time to go somewhere else or if we did visit then maybe a different hotel to LUX Grand Gaube where we have stayed many times. However we love the Island and it's people and we have always had an amazing experience at LUX GG so we decided to return again. Absolutely the right decision! All the staff at the hotel are wonderful, welcoming and so friendly and it is very difficult to single out individuals but the people who made our stay exceptional were: Ashwin and Ashwan in Palm Court and Creole Smoke Hse who went out of their way to ensure we had a wonderful experience at every meal. We were similarly looked after in Beach Rouge by Nund, Akshaye and Pergum. Not forgetting Bodrum where we had exceptional service from Durgesh. In INTI Yasser was the perfect host with attention to detail. Diron was always on hand to ensure we had no issues and were really enjoying our holiday. Chef Deepuck cooked superb meals and it's no surprise we both put on the weight! In the bar the cocktails were amazing made mainly by Kevish and Yovan. On the beach, were we spent most of the day, we were looked after brilliantly by the ''man in the hat'' Reedoo, supported by Anoop and Veer and in the adult area by Kumar. All of whom make delicious milkshakes. Pravesh, our room boy, made incredible towel sculptures and kept our room very clean. And last but not least our thanks to Elena at reception for her understanding and efficiency. Overall LUX GG constantly delivers a wonderful experience and the staff always make it so special.

Definitely do another tour! - Really great! We had really nice tour guides/captains and actually saw sperm whales. As a little "extra" we drove past Crystal Rock - the tours usually cost extra. So I can only recommend it! We were also told that there are also tours that offer snorkeling/diving with whales. This stresses the animals and is forbidden according to the coast guard. The captains always kept a good distance from the animals so as not to harass them. The whole thing was really beautiful!

No respect for wildlife - We went to observe sperm whales. While it is forbidden to dive near the animals so as not to stress them, there were around ten boats which discharged a multitude of people, armed with fins and snorkels, excited at the idea of filming themselves near the sperm whales to make the interesting ones on social networks. They didn't care about respect for wildlife. Only a few operators, including ours, had given instructions to stay on the boat.

Poor customer service, no communication - Poor non existent customer service. Our only negative experience in Mauritius. Our taxi driver pre booked this Whale watching experience for us and we drove from the West to the East coast with an early morning start. On arrival, no boat or staff to be seen. Taxi driver called them and they simply said the trip had been cancelled and they had attempted to contact him that morning. There No missed calls or messages, so a blatant lie. Whilst i understand the need to cancel going out if numbers are low or the whales are not in the areas, we weren't given the option to rebook. Shocking service. Would not recommend
