Additional Information

Embarking on the quintessential journey through the city of Granada, from Avellano to the peak of Cerro del Sol via the Alarife route, is undeniably steeped in history. This region is lush with Mediterranean flora, including holm oaks, replanted pines, and gall oaks, further enhanced by the presence of numerous aromatic shrubs.
There is no need for motor transportation to explore these renowned scenic places. Cerro del Sol boasts a multitude of routes for reaching its peak, such as the ancient road beginning at the San José cemetery, the forest trails positioned behind the Silla del Moro and the Santa Elena hill, paths leading from the lands of Cenes de la Vega, and an assortment of trails that weave their way somewhat haphazardly through the hill’s northeast slope facing Sacromonte and descending into the Darro valley. These are routes that must be understood and appreciated.

A great walk on the doorstep of Granada. - This was a guided walk that added to our experience of the visit to the Alhambra the previous day. The views of the city from a different perspective were breathtaking. Our guide Julio was knowledgeable and interesting making this a very enjoyable walk. This was the second time we have been on a guided walk with Attraversiamo and we hope it will not be the last. Thank you.

Happy Day - We loved this hike and highly recommend it. Our guides were two Brazilian men and they were lovely and took lots of photos of each of the couples in our group (we had really nice people in our group.) They are very knowledgable and were funny too. The hike is varied (mostly water at the beginning) and beautiful. They gave us hiking sticks which were useful. You need to be at least average fitness to do this tour, wear comfortable shoes (good trainers are fine, they don’t need to be waterproof - just watch your steps). Do make sure you carry water. I advise you take a small hiking backpack with a water bladder, not a draw string backpack. There is some ‘crawling’, some climbing over and holding onto handles, thin ledges, and some steep parts. The pace was good. You need to do lots of leg stretches afterwards, or your calves will ache, if you’re not used to 6K hikes. The price was basically a bargain. I would love to do this tour again. Thanks very much to our great guides!
