This region is lush with Mediterranean flora, including holm oaks, replanted pines, and gall oaks, further enhanced by the presence of numerous aromatic shrubs.
There is no need for motor transportation to explore these renowned scenic places. Cerro del Sol boasts a multitude of routes for reaching its peak, such as the ancient road beginning at the San José cemetery, the forest trails positioned behind the Silla del Moro and the Santa Elena hill, paths leading from the lands of Cenes de la Vega, and an assortment of trails that weave their way somewhat haphazardly through the hill’s northeast slope facing Sacromonte and descending into the Darro valley. These are routes that must be understood and appreciated.
