Building Memories at LEGOLAND New York: A Family Adventure
As a family travel writer, I couldn’t resist the allure of LEGOLAND New York in Goshen. With two LEGO-loving kids in tow, we embarked on a journey filled with fun, learning, and unforgettable memories. Here’s how our adventure unfolded.
Building Memories at LEGOLAND New York
As a family travel writer, I’m always on the lookout for destinations that promise fun, learning, and bonding for families. When I heard about LEGOLAND New York in Goshen, I knew it was a must-visit for my family. With two kids who are LEGO enthusiasts, the idea of a theme park dedicated to their favorite building blocks was too enticing to pass up.
Our adventure began on a bright, sunny morning as we drove up to the park. The excitement was palpable as we approached the entrance, greeted by larger-than-life LEGO sculptures. The park is divided into seven themed lands, each offering unique experiences. Our first stop was the LEGO Factory Adventure Ride, where we transformed into Minifigures and embarked on a whimsical journey through the LEGO universe. The kids were thrilled, and I couldn’t help but join in their laughter and awe.
A Day of Fun and Learning
One of the highlights of our visit was the Dragon Coaster. My kids, aged 8 and 10, couldn’t get enough of it. They rode it six times in one day! The park’s interactive exhibits were a hit, too. We spent hours at the Master Builders’ workshop, where the kids got hands-on experience building their own LEGO creations. It was a joy to see their creativity come to life.
The park’s cleanliness and safety measures were commendable. Even when the weather turned rainy, the park’s rain policy ensured we didn’t miss out on any fun. We were pleasantly surprised to receive a free day pass as we left the park, thanks to their generous rain policy. It was a thoughtful gesture that made our experience even more memorable.
Room for Improvement
While our visit was mostly positive, there were a few areas that could use some improvement. Some of the interactive exhibits and ride displays were glitchy or not functioning, which was a bit disappointing. Additionally, the dining experience left much to be desired. The food was expensive, and the service was hit or miss. We found ourselves spending over $100 per meal for our family of four, which seemed excessive given the quality.
Despite these minor setbacks, our time at LEGOLAND New York was unforgettable. The park’s charm and the joy it brought to my kids made it all worthwhile. It’s a perfect destination for families with young children, especially those who love LEGO. As we drove home, my kids were already planning our next visit, and I couldn’t help but smile, knowing that we had created lasting memories together.
