Arrival and First Impressions

As a family travel writer, I’m always on the lookout for destinations that promise fun and excitement for the whole family. So, when I heard about LEGOLAND New York in Goshen, I knew it was time to pack up the family and hit the road. We decided to make a weekend of it, staying at the LEGOLAND Hotel the night before our park adventure. The hotel itself was a delight, with LEGO-themed rooms that had my kids bouncing off the walls with excitement. After a hearty breakfast, we strolled over to the park, ready for a day of brick-tastic fun.

The park was buzzing with energy, but not overwhelmingly crowded, which was a relief. We visited on a Sunday at the end of September, and it seemed like the perfect time. The longest we waited for any ride was about 15-20 minutes, but most were more like 5-10 minutes. This was a huge plus, especially with young kids in tow. The park’s layout is intuitive, and we found ourselves easily navigating from one LEGO-themed land to another.

Adventures in LEGO-Land

Our first stop was the Dragon Coaster, a thrilling ride that quickly became a family favorite. My husband and I, along with our two older kids, couldn’t get enough of the twists and turns. Meanwhile, our youngest, who is three, enjoyed the gentler rides and attractions designed for the littlest adventurers. It’s worth noting that many rides have a height requirement of 42 inches, so keep that in mind if you’re visiting with toddlers.

Next, we ventured into the LEGO Factory Adventure Ride, where we were transformed into mini-figures and taken on a whimsical journey through the LEGO creation process. The kids were mesmerized, and I have to admit, I was too! The attention to detail in the park is incredible, with LEGO-themed items and photo ops around every corner.

We took a break for lunch at Brickolino’s, a bustling spot that served up quick and tasty pizza. It was a bit loud and busy, but the service was efficient, and the kids were happy, which is all that matters. After refueling, we continued our exploration, making sure to visit the new LEGO DUPLO PEPPA PIG Playground, which was a hit with our youngest.

A Day to Remember

As the day went on, we found ourselves immersed in the magic of LEGOLAND. From the interactive Model Builder Experience to the tiny LEGO cities in MINILAND, there was no shortage of things to see and do. The park is designed with families in mind, offering a mix of thrilling rides and hands-on activities that cater to a wide range of ages.

One full day felt just right for our visit, allowing us to experience many of the attractions without feeling rushed. As we made our way back to the hotel, tired but happy, we couldn’t help but talk about all the fun we had and the memories we made. My kids are already asking when we can go back, and I have a feeling it won’t be long before we return.
