  • Restaurant Palais Bab Sahra Fes - Embark on a journey to explore the rich history of traditional Moroccan attire, celebrated for its cultural and artistic variety.

I invite you to my atelier where I craft and showcase my designs, offering insight into the creation of garments such as the Caftan, Takchita, Djalaba, and more. Select from these for a photographic session in a stunning Riad that has stood for 12 centuries at the core of Fez’s medina, ensuring you leave with lasting, beautiful memories.

Additional Information

Ordinarily, grooms don a jabador, selham, or djellaba, but modern times have seen the adoption of conventional suits as well. The bride, on the other hand, enjoys a wardrobe loaded with excitement. A Moroccan bride could change into as many as seven distinct dresses!

The wedding commences with a green and gold caftan for the henna occasion, followed by a pure white Takchita signifying purity at the start of the formal ceremony.

She then slips into the Fassiya, a white, gold or green extraordinary dress adorned with head accessories for the Amaria parade. This is followed by a Rbatia, typically blue to represent Rabat’s region. Next is the Sahraouia, a draped dress in homage to the Moroccan Sahara community, followed by a vibrant, Berber-patterned Soussia. The outfit changes culminate with the Mejdoub, a rich, gold-embroidered caftan.

Having completed the outfit changes, we serve a meal composed of seven different salad varieties complemented by a tagine. The meal ends on a high note with seasonal fruits, not forgetting the quintessential Moroccan tea coupled with Fassian treats.
