Highlights

Fes - Middle Atlas Mountains - The Sahara Desert.

Merzouga Desert - Fes Desert Trip’s driver, will pick you up from you hotel or Riad at 7 am for the fabulous journey up into the Middle Atlas mountains. Your first stop will be at the delightful town of Ifrane, built by the French in the 1930’s, and known as Morocco’s Switzerland because of its Alpine chalet-styled architecture and aspect. Next you will travel on through the huge cedar forests around the quaint, peaceful Berber town of Azrou, “The Rock” in the local Berber dialect, where the famous Barbary Apes, actually macaque monkeys, will be eager to share your lunch, in the heart of their natural habitat. Then, passing through the Atlas Mountains, that are said to hold up the sky, winding your way though forested peaks, twisting mountain streams and gushing springs and spectacular, jagged walls of rock, you will arrive at the important, Sahara’s edge town of Rissani, then, continuing on south, you will be amazed at the startlingly sudden appearance, as if by magic, of the Erg Chebbi sand dunes. These dunes are massive, up to 50 metres in height and extend eastwards all the way into the Algerian Sahara. Then enjoy an unforgettable ninety minute camel trek into the breathtaking sunset as you travel through the shifting sands before you arrive at a traditional Berber desert encampment to spend the night in a charming tent, surrounded by the mountainous dunes. Chill out and enjoy a delicious dinner while listening to the sweet strains of traditional Berber music until it is time to sleep underneath the myriad of glittering stars, so many and so bright that you feel you could almost reach out and touch them.

Desert Dawn

Fes el-Bali - An early start, as you are awoken to experience the splendour of the sun rising over the sand dunes, then you will ride your camel gently back to a hotel for breakfast, during which ride, you cannot fail to notice the shifting and changing of the shadows cast by the dunes, lengthening and shrinking as the day progresses. After breakfast, the journey back to Fes through the Mighty Middle Atlas Mountains.

Once in a lifetime journey! - Although the car trip from Fes to the desert is very long, we were able to stop at quite a few interesting places on the way (the Atlas mountains were a highlight) and our driver Mohammad was so funny and knowledgeable. The desert experience itself was unforgettable. The camel ride was once in a lifetime, and seeing the sand dunes in person was amazing. I'd recommend it 100%

An excellent experience in the Merzouga desert. - We traveled with Madih, who was both a great driver and a great guide. Beautiful tour! We needed to concentrate everything in 2 days, but we didn't want to deprive ourselves of the desert night. With this tour we managed to do everything (Ifrane, Azrou, Merzouga, Rissani, Ouarzazate and Ait Ben Haddou) with an excellent and friendly guide and at an honest price

Perfect experience! Don’t miss it! - Absolutely perfect! I could not ask for a better team to take care of us. From the moment we arrived in Fes all of our guides were amazing, super knowledgeable and accommodating. Yahya our driver to the desert was incredible, stopping everywhere and making sure we took the best pictures and went to the best places. The desert experience in itself was a dream, and our host Hassan made us feel at home with his stories about his whole life lived in the Saharan desert. The manager is Fes Tours Nabil was also great communicating everything with us beforehand, available always and we felt safe and taken care of the whole time! If I could rate this any higher I definitely would. 100% recommend! Also check out their other tours, we also did volubilis and meknes with them and had an amazing time, and had a walking tour with Abdul in the Médina who was super knowledgeable on everything about Fes. Tanneries, ceramic factories, you would see everything with them. Don’t miss out when you’re in Morocco! They are the team to book!

Tome experience - This was a great trip. Our tour guide Madih was really friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed feeding the monkeys, seeing all the landscapes and riding the camels. The desert camp was lovely when we arrived and the locals at the camp really made the experience even more enjoyable.

Madihs guide around the Sahara - Madih, our desert guide, was exceedingly kind, accommodating, and informative. While traveling to the Sahara, we were escorted through a number of various communities and were exposed to Moroccan culture. Madih was also very helpful in recommending good places to eat traditional food along the way. I would strongly advise people to do this tour.

Amazing - It was an amazing and well designed trip. Good timing to see all what they offer. Our driver (Pedro) was amazing and we strongly recommend him. Quite friendly, educated and made our time (7 hours each way) in the car shorter.

Excellent trip to the desert from Fes - We had a fantastic time on the 2 day 1 night trip from Fes. Our tour organiser Nabil and our driver Medi were so accommodating, friendly and knowledgeable. We couldn’t have had a better experience in the desert. Sunsets, camel rides, sand boarding and listening to music around the camp fire - what more could you need 😀

Lifelong memories and Nabil is simply the best! - This was hands down the highlight of our 10 days in Morocco. We feel so lucky to have met Nabil and to have been able to spend time with him on this trip. He goes above and beyond to make sure you are having a great time. You cannot go to Morocco and miss this tour, it’s that excellent!!! We have the absolute best memories of playing with camels in the desert, meeting the nicest locals, and driving ATVs around the desert was absolutely unreal. I cannot say enough great things about this tour, you MUST book it if you are in Fes!! We feel Nabil is now family since we had such a great time, he really looked out for us and we could tell he genuinely wants you to just have a great time in Morocco!
