Great trip, great host, zero complaints - We did the excursion with Khaled Dimo. He was excellent, very friendly informative and welcoming, as well as being great Arabic teacher! We started the day driving from Cairo over to Fayoum for sight seeing and then onwards to do some sandboarding and a felucca trip. Dimo was great taking photos for us and suggesting good spots. He was more than happy to customize our trip for what we wanted. The excursion was great but Dimo made it fantastic. If you are doing this I would recommend requesting him to ensure you have a great time.

DO NOT BOOK WITH TRIP EGYPT!!! - Poor Tour Guide Conduct: The tour guide barely spoke, struggled with English, and failed to provide any context or highlight key points during the tour. In this case, only a driver would have been sufficient, and the cost of the tour could have been reduced accordingly. When we raised this with the owner, Ahmed, he explained that the tour doesn’t require a guide to speak, as it is meant to be an "experience." However, this raises the question: if the tour doesn’t require a guide to engage, why is one included in the first place? Suspected Scamming: The guide suggested purchasing a scarf for 400 EGP, claiming it was the tourist price, but assured us he could get it for a lower price of 200 EGP as a local. We trusted him, especially since the company was listed on Booking.com and we did not expect to be scammed. The guide even purchased one for himself. Later, we found local vendors quoting us 150 EGP, and when we raised this with both the guide and Ahmed, they became defensive, attempting to justify the guide's behavior. We also spoke with other guides from different companies, who confirmed that a local could bargain for the scarf for as low as 50 EGP. Discrepancy in Fees: The guide quoted an entrance fee of $10 for the desert, but Trip Egypt later confirmed it was only $5. When confronted, the guide acted surprised and claimed to be unaware, even though he had initially asked us for $10. We reported this discrepancy to Trip Egypt, but once again, they attempted to justify the dishonesty. Missed Camel Ride: The promised camel ride was omitted from the tour, and although a partial refund of 100 EGP per person was offered, it did not sufficiently address the disappointment. The guide claimed to have forgotten about the ride. When we questioned how we could be compensated for this missing experience, Ahmed from Trip Egypt simply stated that a camel ride is “simple” and not a significant part of the tour. This response misses the point entirely—the issue is not the simplicity of the ride, but the fact that it was an essential part of the experience that was unprofessionally neglected. Shortened Tour Duration: The tour was significantly shorter than the advertised 12 hours, which led to dissatisfaction. The description on Booking.com portrayed the tour as a jam-packed, fun-filled day, which did not match our experience. The shortened duration made the tour feel rushed and incomplete. Unprofessional Customer Service: The response from Trip Egypt was dismissive and unhelpful. When we raised our concerns with Ahmed, he raised his voice and failed to resolve the issue, further contributing to our frustration.
