I would encourage anyone considering this trip to go for it, and I can recommend this team wholeheartedly!! - Khalil from DesertTrips Safari arranged our 10-day private Uganda tour for April 2025. He ensured everything was taken care of, including transport, meals, and excellent accommodations, along with airline ticketing. My husband had never traveled as far as Uganda, and he had a carefree and wonderful experience! Every detail in the itinerary was executed exactly as planned, resulting in flawless logistics that involved the coordination of many people and facilities. The treks are challenging, but the reward of seeing chimpanzees and gorillas is beyond description. Stanley, our driver and guide, was a perfect match for us; he played a significant role in making our trip the best. We felt safe with his driving, and he spotted much wildlife that we would have missed. He ensured we were prepared for the gorilla trek and drove us to the starting point. It was an unforgettable experience. The trip from start to finish was everything and more than I could have imagined. After a long flight, we arrived in Entebbe to be greeted at the airport by our guide and driver, Stanley, who escorted us to our hotel. We were joined by another couple from Italy and enjoyed their company during our visit. The four of us shared the safari vehicle with Stanley—we prefer small groups. After a restful day in Entebbe, we began our journey to Uganda’s national parks, including Lake Mburo, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Kibale, and Queen Elizabeth. Once we left the metro area of Kampala, we discovered beautiful countryside, with rolling hills filled with tea, coffee, bananas, pineapples, cotton, and mangos, to name a few. As we approached Lake Mburo National Park, the landscape became a bit more mountainous, and later, upon arriving at Queen Elizabeth National Park for our gorilla trek, the mountains rose above 7,000 feet. During our boat rides on Lake Mburo and the channel connecting Lakes Edward and Albert, we saw many bird species, including fish eagles and spoon-billed storks, along with a few crocodiles, elephants, countless hippos, waterbucks, zebras, giraffes, impalas, cape buffalo, and more. Our gorilla trek in Queen Elizabeth National Park was the highlight of our Uganda adventure. Visiting our gorilla group, Mukiza Group, was one of the most exciting experiences of all our travels. Close behind were the lion and chimpanzee treks, both fun and unforgettable. Sandwiched between these highlights were many enjoyable and interesting experiences, including a swamp trek, a visit to Botwa cultural village with a session in the company of the community's “traditional healer,” and shopping in local markets and women’s handicraft centers. Each day began with a robust breakfast complete with juice, a variety of fruits, eggs made to order, bacon or sausage, and pancakes. We enjoyed lunch at local restaurants, usually buffet style, with an amazing variety of salads, vegetables, meats, and desserts. At day’s end, our overnight accommodations were first-class. Each evening meal included a variety of salads, vegetables, meats, and desserts, after which we retired to find the bed netting in place and sheets and blankets turned down, ensuring us a perfect night’s sleep. Their guides, infrastructure, and direct control over all elements of the trip is why I choose to travel with them. Their guides are unique, energetic, experienced, and caring individuals. We learned so much from them and experienced many extraordinary things. They truly make the trip! It’s clear they select the best and go all out! We won’t travel with anyone else. Their success rate is 101%. As long as I can do extreme adventures, I plan to go again with DesertTrips Safari!

Everything was coordinated beautifully! Let this amazing team do all the preparation for you. - Our trip to Uganda was fantastic from start to finish. Khalil from DesertTrips Safari was amazing at listening to our requirements. I reached out about six months before we wanted to go, and he did a great job creating a perfect trip that melded all of our differing interests and travel styles. The density and variety of wildlife were extraordinary. It was much more amazing than I could have ever dreamed of. We went to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Kalinzu Forest, and Kazinga Channel..etc. It was breathtaking to see the Gorillas and Chimpanzees, elephants, lions, zebras, giraffes, wildebeest, many species of antelope, hyenas, cape buffalo, hippos, etc. From such a close distance. This was made possible by our amazing guide/driver, Stanley. He had a sixth sense for knowing where the animals would be and which way they would be going, so that he could position us in such a way that the animals were coming to us. He explained particularly impressively about the manner of their behavior in every respect. Stanley was knowledgeable about the geography, plants, and animals of the area, and we learned much from him and very pleasant in company, dexterous and safe to drive, he constantly took care of our comfort. It was clear that Stanley was giving us the best possible experience on our trip. Each accommodation added its unique touches to our stay that made our trip truly special. The meals were delicious, varied, and nicely served, and the restaurants were very neat, clean, and tastefully furnished. The staff bent over backward to make sure anything you need is taken care of, all with megawatt smiles. All in all, we got to experience a little bit of everything and loved every second. Highly recommend them for your next trip!

If you're lucky enough to book with them, you’re in for an absolute treat - We booked a tour with Deserttrips safari for our Africa trip in Uganda. They designed customized itineraries based on our preferences. They were amazing, very responsive and so full of ideas, addressed our concerns, and ensured the program maintained a comfortable pace for each activity. They considered all logistical details, reminded us to bring bug repellent and take required immunizations, and advised us on proper attire for the trip. Our guide, Stanley, was kind of a gentleman, a fantastic driver, and knowledgeable. But oh are we glad that we found him! From day one we were in capable hands with one of the sweetest and kindest young men I have had the privilege to meet and spend time with. He went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure we saw what we most wanted to see and tirelessly explained so much to us about African wildlife, Ugandan culture, and more... He invited us to his home, where his wife prepared a delicious traditional Ugandan lunch. She also made coffee from raw beans, roasted them over charcoal, ground them, and then brewed them. It was tasty!!! The highlights of our trip were visiting Murchison Falls National Park, Lake Bunyonyi, Kidepo Valley National Park, and Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi National Park.... The entire team tracking the gorillas and guides was wonderful. Spending an hour with them is truly a remarkable experience. it’s a feeling you need to experience on your own! and I’d highly recommend this to anyone planning to visit the region! We felt safe the entire time and throughout our time in Uganda. I cannot wait to come back one day..

We had an exceptional trip and if I'm fortunate enough to return one day, I'll be reaching out to DesertTrips Safari. - We booked a private tour to Uganda through DesertTrips Safari. We were taken care of from when we were picked up at the Airport to when we were dropped off. It was an amazing trip where we got to meet the people and soul of Uganda. Everyone was so kind and so friendly and spoke great English. We were very impressed by all of the lodges we stayed at. Everything was very nice and clean. Queen Elizabeth National Park was absolutely amazing. We saw all the animals we wanted to see and guides shared their knowledge of the animals, geography, and culture of the area and welcomed our questions. We were even lucky enough to see the chimpanzees when we went chimpanzee tracking on our 2nd day. All the tours were worth every penny. Lots of animals to see. We visited the Shoebill birds as a side trip... So glad we did! Off down south we went to the Bwindi impenetrable forest for our gorilla trekking. On the way we had another river safari and had the most amazing time seeing beautiful birds, hippos, and over 100 elephants coming and going. We just didn’t expect to see so many. We got to stop and relax watching them all drink, play, and trumpet. A green and lush country. With helpful and friendly people. There is a huge variety in the countryside from the lakes of Mutanda in the southwest to the plains of the north, the unusual crater lakes. The birdlife is amazing so much variety - many types of kingfishers and every other bird. Lucky to not have many biting flies at the time of year we were there but still take lots of bug spray as they are around. It was absolutely jam-packed with amazing experiences and got better and better a day to relax and enjoy the scenery would have been nice. The trip to Uganda is not to be missed!! I would highly recommend it to anyone!

Ultimate Ugandan Safari - Upcoming trip - We worked with DesertTrips Safari to book our Uganda safari trip this month. The itinerary is exactly as we wanted it. The tour was very well planned and executed and it exceeded all of our expectations - thank you!! There was never a hold-up/question about entrance permits when we arrived at the National Parks. The airport pick-ups were very smooth. All of the hotels/bush camps/lodges were excellent, stepping out of the rooms in the morning is a treat for the eyes. Every single member of the staff was very kind and went out of their way to help, the food was good in terms of options and taste. I do not think I have ever encountered such warm, genuine hospitality! Stanley was our guide and driver for all trip and he was excellent. He helped us feel safe while traveling around the country, taking part in lots of different activities and getting to know the locals and their culture. He always made sure we were in a position to get the best photos and experiences, which was lovely of him, Our 7day itinerary included a Queen Elizabeth National Park, a boat cruise along the Kazinga channel, chimp trekking in Kalinzu forest, lake Bunyonyi, lake Mburo National Park...etc. Each park we visited had it's own unique personality, terrain, and variety of animals, After the safari, The breathtaking landscapes, incredible wildlife, and rich cultural experiences made this trip truly unforgettable and we were sad to leave. All and all a great vacation that more than met our expectations and one that I would highly recommend. They did a fantastic job!
