Additional Information

During your time in San Sebastian, take the opportunity to explore some of the picturesque seaside towns nestled along the Basque coast. Despite their proximity to the bustling city, these fishing hamlets mirror a bygone era, frozen in time. Our journey begins at the ancient walled town of Hondarribia, a perfect blend of solemnity in its old quarter and vivacity in its fishermen’s district. Later, we traverse Mount Jaizkibel, unveiling sweeping views of the area and the Bidasoa River, the natural divider of two nations. We conclude our voyage upon reaching the tranquil bay of Pasajes, flanked by San Juan on one side and San Pedro on the other, echoing a sense of timeless tranquillity.

With the tour’s comfortable length, it serves as an ideal half-day excursion from Donostia, ensuring you can return and relish the animated city vibes by afternoon!

Interesting and informative tour. - Our guide, Iker, was fantastic! He had an abundance of knowledge to share and a great personality. The tour was really interesting, particularly the town of Hondarribia. Iker never lost his sense of humour despite the delay in the ferry ride back to San Juan! 😂

Small picturesque Basque villages - full if history - Memorable small picturesque villages. Excellent guide Iker /Iko/ from Local experts tours, who was very caring and kind, and had a fluent English. Ask for Iko as a guide. Check weather in the day of the tour - it is much much better to see the surroundings in sunny time to ensure good views.

What a great short tour - Martin our guide was very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. He made the arrangements for the tour work well. It was good being a small group and we still got all the details even though everyone else was Spanish. We saw a great selection of places including medieval towns, old ports (with a short boat ride) and views from the highest local hills.

Trip to Hondarabia, S.Juan & S Pedro.Pedro - Picturesque half day tour with knowledgeable guide, who provided some history of the region covering the many incursions between France and the Basque country. Also encountered a local procession in traditional costume with traditional dances which was an added bonus..

Disappointing and uninformative. - This tour started on a sour note when there was a mix up in pickup- we were first informed that we had a hotel pickup, but instead had to meet at a central location. Our guide told us it was unsafe for him to talk and drive, which may have been legitimate had he not spent the entire time flirting with the young woman next to him. Information was limited in each of the stops - we barely even knew what town we were in - and our tour guide spent more time trying to convince us to go to one of the restaurants we walked past. And we spent an inordinate amount of time waiting for a boat for a 3 minute ride across a channel when it would have been easier just to walk back to the van. I think/hope there are better tours and uses of your time.
