The Call of the Wild: Arrival in Dibrugarh

The moment I touched down in Dibrugarh, I could feel the pulse of adventure coursing through my veins. The air was thick with anticipation as I joined my fellow thrill-seekers, all of us eager to embark on the Seven Lakes Trek. Our journey began with a scenic drive to Roing, where the Assamese plains stretched out like a canvas painted with hues of green and gold. The foothills of Arunachal Pradesh loomed in the distance, promising the kind of rugged terrain that makes my heart race.

As we settled into our overnight stay in Roing, the camaraderie among our group was palpable. We shared stories of past adventures, each tale more daring than the last. The night was filled with laughter and the crackling of a campfire, a perfect prelude to the epic trek that awaited us.

Into the Heart of the Wilderness: Anini to Emuli Grassland

The next leg of our journey took us from Roing to Anini, a ten-hour drive that tested our endurance but rewarded us with breathtaking vistas. Anini, a remote town nestled in the Dibang Valley, served as our gateway to the wilderness. After a day of rest, we set off for the Emuli Grassland, our first campsite at 9,000 feet.

The trek through the rainforest and bamboo jungles was nothing short of exhilarating. The air was alive with the sounds of nature, a symphony of rustling leaves and distant bird calls. Each step took us deeper into the heart of the wild, where the landscape transformed into a lush tapestry of greens and browns. The climb was steep, but the thrill of the ascent kept us moving forward.

Reaching the Aniku Top Campsite was a triumph. At 9,000 feet, the view was nothing short of spectacular. The horizon stretched endlessly, a reminder of the vastness of the world and the adventures that lay beyond.

The Lakes of Legend: Kahu Wu~ya to HUHU

The highlight of our trek was undoubtedly the exploration of the seven mystical lakes. Our journey took us to Kahu Wu~ya Lake, perched at 12,600 feet, where the water shimmered like a sapphire under the sun. The air was crisp and cool, invigorating us for the trek to Emuh~ya Lake, a mere 300 feet higher.

Each lake we encountered was a jewel in the wilderness, each with its own unique charm. Koyombo Wuya, Dini, Che~ne, and HUHU Lakes were no exception. The serenity of these waters was a stark contrast to the adrenaline-fueled trek that brought us here. It was a moment of reflection, a chance to connect with nature in its purest form.

As we made our way back to base camp, the sense of accomplishment was overwhelming. The Seven Lakes Trek had tested our limits, but it had also rewarded us with memories that would last a lifetime. The Dibang Valley had revealed its secrets to us, and in return, we left a piece of our adventurous souls behind.
